      Ian was the early riser. Jackie stretched her arm out to his side of the bed. Empty. Cold.

      What time was it?

      She fumbled with her eyes still half shut for her cellphone next to the bed.

      06:58. She should get up.

      She’d been thinking about this day for weeks now, and finally it had arrived. A couple of months before, they passed the Spilhaus  shop after book browsing at Willowbridge when Ian noticed Jackie’s eyes become crow like as they neared the glittery window.
