About this ebook

Dustin Charleston has just been traded to the Arizona Hares hockey team. As an otter, he’s not too pleased by this. Arizona is dry, he’s leaving his home behind, and he has to move in with a stranger. Things take an even steeper plunge when he meets his roommate.

Chandler Kipling is the captain of the Hares, a least weasel, and he’s got a bit of a thing for his new teammate. Too bad that teammate seems to hate him. And Chandler’s romantic strategies leave something to be desired. Will Dustin be able to get the message he’s trying to send? With a little time, their nightmare might turn into a dream—if they can get past their differences.

A story from the Dreamspinner Press 2016 Daily Dose package "A Walk on the Wild Side".

‘To Arizona’ had me intrigued when reading the blurb, and smiling from the first page. I mean, an otter shifter who gets transferred to Arizona – Phoenix to be precise - one of the driest places on Earth? And to play ice hockey of all things – in one of the hottest states of the USA? And to top it all of he’s paired up with a least weasel shifter who has some very “interesting” courting strategies. As expected, this story was a hoot and a half.

Dustin is an otter shifter who likes water –well, duh! – and is somewhat of a pack animal. I have no idea how he survived three years playing ice hockey with a team of mostly lion shifters, but he’s told himself he liked it even though he admits he went to his human roommates for the affection and pack feeling he needs. Now he’s been transferred to a new team, one of mixed shifter membership, has to leave his home behind, and finds himself and the way he plays ice hockey challenged at every turn. In a word, he is miserable.

The fact that he has to live with the team captain, Chandler, does not help one bit. The man is abrasive in the rink and out, he leaves his home in a mess, he is lazy – the list of Dustin’s complaints goes on and on. And yet – he finds Chandler extremely attractive and the fire of unrelieved passions burns so hot between them that the teams not just notices but begins to get involved. The results are explosive to say the least!

If you like unusual shifters, tough athletes who fight as hard during their games as everywhere else, and if you’re looking for a highly entertaining read that is as funny as it is hot, then you will probably like this novella.
