This is Angel again with a number of stories about how the secret society, Unoworld, affected the lives of individuals from the Ruling Class, the Middle Class, the Poor Class, and the story of my life. I’ve also included the story of the nation, Macoria, on the planet, Centelliberi.

In the year, 2065, the acknowledged founder of the Unoworld, Yuri Yoroshov, was born in Moscow, Russia. With help of his multinational Inner Circle, Yuri started a campaign to take over control of the world. His plan was to use stealth methods to infiltrate and take over control of the many countries of the world with the aid of criminal gangs, corrupt business and corrupt political leaders. This was not a Russian revolution to take over control of the world, but a revolution led by the Russian, Yuri Yoroshov, with the aid of his Inner Circle. By the time Yuri passed away in the year, 2155, a large portion of his dream of world domination had been realized.

Following the demise of Yuri Yoroshov, the Unoworld came under the control of an American, Nancy Smith, and eventually her grandson, Brian Boardmann. They were instrumental in establishing the World Government, which consisted of the World Senate, the real power in the World Government, and the World Assembly whose members were elected. The World Senate members were appointed to life long positions with the Senate President as the chief executive.

During this time, the population of the world was basically organized into three groups: The Ruling Class, which controlled the world government and business; the Middle Class, which made the world run, and supplied the skilled workers. Finally, the Poor Class, which had very few rights and opportunities to better themselves.

A succession of Senate Presidents followed the administration of Brian Boardmann. With the exception of one Senate President, Petra Smith, these Senate Presidents adhered to the principles of the Unoworld, by the perpetuation of the Ruling Class and the continuance of the control of Earth and the Milky Way Galaxy.

Brian Boardmann served as Senate President for twelve years until the year 2208, when he was forced to resign by a coalition of fellow Senators. The next Senate President, Tok Uomoto, presided for seventeen years until the year 2225.

During Tok’s administration, FTL (Faster than Light) travel was developed by Earth scientist. Exploration of the Milky Way Galaxy began. In the Senate, the Space Committee was created, which became one of the most powerful committees in the World Senate. By the year 2220, Earth exploration of the Milky Way Galaxy began. Ten years later the Space Legionnaires were formed–thus began the infamous Roundups in the poor areas of Earth’s major cities to staff the Legionnaires with recruits.

Soha Deha from the Southeast-Asia Federation became the next Senate President to follow Tok Uomoto. During Soha Deha’s administration, one of the first planets, which Earth occupied, was the planet Prehensio. This planet became the training base for the Legionnaires and the prison planet.

Unfortunately, in the year 2230 Soha Deha was killed in a freak accident tumbling down the stairway entrance to the Senate hall. She had served five years as Senate President.

Viktor Kasopovage became the next Senate President and he served until the year 2257 for twenty– seven years; the longest term for a Senate President. During Viktor’s administration, the desert planet, Prehensio, was occupied. The planet was divided into two zones with Legionnaire camps located in the northern zone, while prison camps were located in the southern zone.

In the year 2235 during Viktor’s administration, the planet Zeous was occupied. Primitive natives inhabited the planet. These natives resembled the Neanderthal, but were larger and stronger than Earth humans. By the year 2275, the rebellion of Zeous natives began. Eventually the rebellion was joined by Middle Class Earth Dissidents.

When Viktor retired, Carlos Duoniani, a vain greedy person and notorious womanizer, became the next Senate President. Carlos was killed by his third wife after a bitter argument, when she caught Carlos in bed with a young beauty queen. He had served as Senate President for twenty–four years.

The next Senate President, Petra Smith, served only four years. She had the distinction of being the only Senate President, who wanted to reform Earth’s government. But, it was the effort of Senator Martha Uster–Foster, the chairperson of the Space Committee, who prevented Petra from enacting any needed reforms, which led to the impeachment and dismissal of Petra as Senate President.

During the last year of Petra Smith’s administration, Earth occupied the planet, Paxus Centium, in the year 2284. At this time, the inhabitants, who resembled smaller Earth humans, of this planet lived in the equivalent of a 1950's Earth technological society. The inhabitants of this planet had never engaged in warfare amongst themselves. They were however an intelligent species and quickly mastered Earth’s advanced technology and eventually surpassed Earth. Eventually, Paxus Centium became the most important planet in the Milky Way Galaxy. Paxus Centium played a large part in the overthrow of Earth’s Unoworld government.

After Petra Smith’s impeachment, the seventh Senate President to serve was Jano Buko from the African Federation. During Jano’s administration the planet, Centelliberi, was occupied by Earth in the year 2302. The natives of this planet lived in a medieval society with mostly despotic rulers of many nations.

After 128 years of rule by the World Senate, John Spockman became the last person to serve as Senate President. He served seventeen years. After the corrupt Earth government was overthrown, the World Senate was disbanded. The center of power in the Milky Way Galaxy now shifted from Earth to Paxus Centium.

PART 1 - THE CONSCIENTIOUS SENATE PRESIDENT

EARLY PETRA

Petra Smith was the only Senate President who made any effort to aid the Middle and Poor Classes. The other Senate Presidents from John Boardmann to the last Senate President, John Spockman, supported the perpetuation of the Ruling Class advantage over the Middle and Poor Classes.

Petra was born in the year 2249 to parents from the Ruling Class. Her father Leo Smith was a diabetic who died two years after Petra was born. Leo’s father, John Smith grew-up as a member of the Ruling Class and became a lawyer. John’s father, Petra’s great-grandfather, was a Canadian Mobster, who joined the Unoworld. On her mother’s side of the family, Lee Ratherson Smith was born in the Ruling Class and attended college as a liberal arts major. Lee was killed in an automobile accident shortly after Petra’s father died. Because of these two tragic events, Petra became a ward of her maternal grandfather, Senator William Ratherson.

Of course, Senator Ratherson supported the right of the Ruling Class to control the world. However, he was an intelligent person and could understand some of the problems facing the Middle and Poor Classes. But, he never introduced any legislation which could have benefitted the Middle and Poor Classes.

Senator Ratherson had been fond of his daughter, Lee, and was deeply hurt by her death in the automobile accident. He was in his third marriage. The third wife was more interested in the social side of the Ruling Class. She never bonded with Petra, but never abused her. The Senator showed the same affection for Petra as he showed for his daughter, Lee.

Under her grandfather’s care, Petra grew-up in one of the exclusive gated communities for the Ruling Class in the North American Federation Toronto Mega-City. At an early age, she developed the ability to read. This ability to read became more important to her than playing games, which young people played. Therefore, as a small child and teenager, Petra was more interested in studying and achieving good grades.

The Senator did take interest in Petra and her activities and even encouraged her to play with other children of her age. But, the Senate consumed so much of his time that he had little time to spend with her.

Petra was an attractive girl, but that didn’t mean anything to her. It was more important for her to achieve good grades.

Because of the segregated areas of the Toronto Mega-City, where the Ruling Class lived in exclusive areas, Petra lived an isolated life and she seldom saw how the Middle and Poor Classes lived. In the early years and before entering college, Petra accepted her status as a member of the Ruling Class without question.

Petra attended the exclusive school for the Ruling Class in the Toronto Mega-City. Because of her outstanding grades in high school, she earned a scholarship to a special Paris University for Ruling Class students.

While attending Paris University, Petra finally became aware of the plight of the Poor Class. One day the assignment in her class took the class on a bus to a museum. The route the bus had to take passed through a Poor Class section of the Paris Mega-City. Now close-up, Petra saw the deplorable conditions that the Poor Class lived in. The sight of these conditions appalled her, but it didn’t seem to bother her fellow classmates. She asked one of the classmates what he thought about the sight of the Poor Class living conditions.

He replied with a callow remark, There are people like this all over the world who live like this. There always has been and there always will be. What’s the big deal?

After going back through the Poor Class area on the way back to the Paris University dormitories, Petra thought about the callow remark made by a fellow classmate. However, after a few weeks of hard study, Petra momentarily forgot about the trip through the Paris Mega-City Poor Class area.

Upon completing her courses at the University of Paris, Petra returned to the Toronto Mega–City, Petra thought about the trip through the Poor Class area of the Paris Mega–City. She decided to take a trip through a Toronto Mega–City Poor Class area. Petra discovered that the Toronto Mega–City Poor Class area to be just as appalling as the Paris Mega–City Poor Class area. Petra thought about this: This bothers me because at this time, there’s nothing I can do about the plight of the Poor Class. Maybe someday I might be able to do something about helping the Poor Class and even the Middle Class.

THE WORLD SENATE

Senator William Ratherson was now 82 and being aware of Petra’s good school record decided to have her join his staff at the World Senate in the Madison Mega-City. This proved to be an ideal situation for both the Senator and his granddaughter. There was always something to do, with the many bills that were introduced in the Senate. Some of these bills were introduced by her grandfather. Even bills submitted by other Senators required an extensive amount of review and study. Many times late at night, Petra and her grandfather had long discussions about the World Senate. One night the old Senator told Petra, I finally had a chance to review your record at the University of Paris. You really did well at the University, and I’m proud of you.

Thank you Grandfather. I certainly enjoy helping you with your duties as a Senator.

Well, keep up the good work. I intend to put you in line for my Senate seat when I retire.

Oh, thank you Grandfather. I don’t feel like I could ever follow in your foot steps as Senator.

Don’t worry, in the year you’ve been here, you’ve proved to be more than ready to assume the position of World Senator. In fact, you know more about the legislative process than most Senators.

Senator Ratherson didn’t retire, because one day while giving his opinion on a bill, he collapsed and died shortly after in the special hospital for the Ruling Class. Senator Ratherson had made known that when he retired or left the Senate for any reason that his Senator vacancy would go to his granddaughter, Petra. Since the Senator had always supported the perpetuation of the Ruling Class and was well liked by his fellow Senators, Petra’s name was submitted to the Senate, upon the death of her Grandfather. It was approved with little hassle. At age, 25, Petra became the youngest Senator. Even through her grandfather was well liked with many friends and who socialized, Petra became known as a quiet individual who however knew all the unwritten rules of the Senate and how legislation was passed. Fellow Senators came to her for advice.

As a new Senator, Petra was assigned to different committees, one of which was the Space Committee. Even though she had a minor role in any decision made by the Space Committee, she left an unfavorable impression on Martha Uster-Foster the Chairperson of the Space Committee. In one instance, Petra had questioned some expenses, which Martha considered minor.

Martha became aware of Petra, when Petra joined her grandfather’s staff. Because of Petra’s knowledge of Senate rules and customs and the attention directed at Petra, Martha was jealous of Petra.

MARTHA USTER-FOSTER - SPACE COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON

Martha Uster-Foster had recently taken control of the Space Committee as the Chairperson along with Jano Buko, the Deputy Chairperson, who would eventually become the Senate President. Martha was a very dominating person, who controlled the Space Committee with a passion. Any member of the Space Committee who would even disagree a little with her would feel her wrath and usually end up on some minor committee.

Martha Uster was born in the year, 2238, to parents, Louise and Roger Uster in the Madison Mega-City. Her parents were both members of the Ruling Class. Her mother served on the staff of a Senator, while her father was a CEO of a large conglomerate of companies. Both parents were forceful and outspoken, a characteristic which Martha inherited. As a child, she was not all that well liked by other parents and their children. Actually she was a brat. Loud and pushy; her parents tolerated this behavior because they thought her behavior was cute. Furthermore, they constantly reminded her of her Ruling Class heritage.

Since both parents were tall and active, Martha was usually the tallest girl in elementary school and high school. She was a fair student. Not the smartest but able to get passing grades in her classes. In any social gathering, she tended to dominate it whether with girls or boys. In her high school senior year she was the class president.

When Martha entered one of the Ruling Class Universities, life continued much as the same as when she was in high school. Political science was her major. She didn’t have a steady boyfriend, but dated from time to time and never entered into a steady relationship with a fellow male student.

Finally during her junior year in a mutual class she met Spencer Foster II. Using the old phase it was love at first sight; from the first date, Martha and Spencer was a pair. Spencer had the same feelings and attitude about the rule of the Ruling Class. In a matter of months they moved into an apartment.

When they graduated from college, Martha with connections from her father and mother joined the same Senator staff of Hilda Comerson that her mother served on. Also, because of her father’s influence, Spencer landed a job in the finance department of the large conglomerate of companies in which Martha’s father was the CEO.

Several months after graduating from college, Martha and Spencer were married. No expense was spared on the cost of the wedding. Almost anyone of importance attended the reception that followed the wedding.

The newly-wed couple settled into a routine. Then Martha became pregnant and gave birth to Spencer Foster III. The pregnancy and the birth of Spencer didn’t stop her from pushing for the goal of becoming a Senator. A year after the birth of Spencer, Hilda Comerson decided that it was time for her to retire and that she felt that Martha was now, even at the age of 26, more than ready to assume the position of Senator.

When Martha became a Senator, she was assigned to one of the lesser committees. This was not something that she would accept. Eventually, after a few years, Martha was able to push for a transfer to the Space Committee. Martha became a close ally of Jano Buko. With several other Space Committee members, they forced the existing Space Committee Chairperson to resign and Martha took over control of the Space Committee as the Committee Chairperson and Jano Buko as the Deputy Chairperson.

Meanwhile, Petra Smith had been selected as a Senator. She had already established herself as an authority on the rules of the Senate and her knowledge of the Charter for governing the world; this was the charter which was written by Yuri Yoroshov. Petra was assigned to the Space Committee and two other Committees. Of course, Martha was aware of Petra being on the staff of Senator Ratherson. Martha was jealous of Petra’s ability.

Petra was in the Space Committee about three months when a bill came before the Senate to add more Legionnaires. Petra had done a thorough analysis of the bill and determined that the increase for more Legionnaires was too much for the budget. The money could be better spent on problems facing Earth. Of course, Martha felt otherwise and she had the majority approval of the Space Committee members and eventually support of most of the members of the Senate.

THE COMMERCE AND TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE

For two years after Petra became a Senator, she was a member of the Space Committee. By this time, she had left an unfavorable impression on Martha. Petra’s influence on any Space Committee legislation was practically nothing. Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Commerce and Transportation Committee decided to retire. The Commerce and Transportation Committee was poorly run, and because of its poor reputation, most Senators turned down the opportunity to take over the chairperson position. But, Petra didn't hesitate when asked if she'd be willing to take over the responsibly of the chairperson position. This was the big opportunity for Petra to takeover and organize an existing poorly run organization.

On becoming the Commerce and Transportation Committee Chairperson, Petra began a review of all the personnel on the existing Chairperson’s staff. She reduced the size of the staff with several members let go, mostly those from the Ruling Class.

The offices for the Commerce and Transportation Committee were in the main capitol building adjacent to the Senate building. By reducing her staff, Petra reduced the size of the office in the main capitol building. Then, she established a satellite office in the cubicle area of the Commerce and Transportation building.

After organizing her staff and office, Petra sent out a request for a secretary. This position was more than being a secretary, but that person would also act as an advisor to Petra. Furthermore, this position was open to Middle Class employees in the Commerce and Transportation Committee.

One week after Petra posted the request for the secretary position, a tall thin African American accountant, Bud Poster, in the finance department came into Petra’s office to interview for the secretary position. He introduced himself, I'm Bud Poster a budget analyst who works in the finance department. I've seen your request for the position of secretary, and I feel that I'm the person you should consider for this position. Furthermore, I have a copy of a report that I've prepared for you, which I'd like to give to you for your review.

That evening, Petra opened Bud's report and was amazed at its contents. Since, Bud was a budget analyst; he had access to most documents and information generated in the Commerce and Transportation Department. He had also talked to several people and included their remarks and comments in his report. This was precisely the type of information that Petra could use to gain complete control of the Commerce and Transportation Committee and reorganize it.

The next day, Petra had Bud come to her office. As Bud entered her office, Petra greeted him, Good morning Bud. Have a seat. Last night, I reviewed your report. This is exactly the type of information that I can use to reorganize the Commerce and Transportation Committee. Do you have any questions?

I spent a lot of my own time putting together this report. I'm pleased that you've read it, and that you appreciate my effort preparing this report.

I've prepared to offer you the secretary position. I want you to understand that the position is much more than being an office secretary. I need someone who can interface with the Middle Class and act as an advisor to me.

Petra made a generous offer, which Bud accepted.

Bud was one of the very few people who made the transition from the Poor Class to the Middle Class. Bud grew–up in a Poor Class area in the Chicago Mega–City. He was thin and scrawny as were most poor people; there were very few poor fat people. Bud never knew who his father was and neither did his mother. He was fortunate to have a single mother who struggled to raise him. She home schooled him; the best she could. She was able to teach him how to read and write, with some basic mathematics.

The streets were tough and Bud had to fight from an early age in order to survive. By the time, Bud was a teenager, he had a number of scars over his body and a few on his face from the many fights he was involved in.

Eventually, his mother was able to get Bud enrolled in a school run by a Gospel Missionary group. While the education would be considered marginal, it was enough to afford Bud the chance to enroll in a two-year college attended by Middle Class students. In order for Bud to support his college education and offer some help for his mother, he participated in cage–fighting, which was a brutal experience. Somehow, Bud managed to win most of his fights and receive his meager prize money.
