One Hundred Poems, Volume VI
()
About this ebook
This is the sixth volume of contemporary poetry that touches a multitude of topics from popular culture to politics, and occasionally from food to specific events. It is a result of a challenge I have imposed on myself, to write at least one poem per day, until I have reached the grand total of one thousand poems. So feel free to read away, the poems are about one hundred words each.

I write, I read, and the typos are still there. It is the crux of my life. Anyhow, my published works should not be overpriced and in some outlets you might be even able to set your own price!

One Hundred Poems, Volume VI - Tuomas Vainio
They are building a list,
One that I have not missed,
But its arrival is behind a twist,
It simply does not yet seem to exist.
I have seen some recommendations on occasion,
Tested and measured their persuasion,
Deemed some out of equation,
Yet most await a chance for suasion,
And I hope that list could provide some evasion.
I will check each entry to see if it is awesome,
And start from top and head to the bottom,
Just to suggest works for this autumn,
On paper it is not any problem.
But I am still waiting for that list...
Glow of coming spring
Glow of sunrise in the distance,
Growing bright with persistence,
Without ever asking for assistance,
Spring is coming without insistence,
Our cycle of almost timeless existence.
Fifth volume
For two days I pushed it aside,
I could just ignore and hide,
But due a sense of pride,
I could no more bide,
And I had to stride,
Put it roadside,
Have it eyed.
115 million
It was Gawker's price for lack of journalistic standards,
It might be enough to stop them running backwards,
Teach them some human decency with manners,
Put an end to practises simply substandard,
A chance to ask and seek right answers,
Follow higher journalistic standard…
But it is Gawker we are talking about here,
So they run backwards – into their own grave.
A Dancer's Dream
Imagine a little girl,
With a dream like a pearl,
A desire to dance into a whirl,
Determination to see world unfurl,
To give their best even as a showgirl,
Because to reach stars she needs to hurl…
A challenging future if there ever is one,
Full of hardships that might stun,
Without a chance for rerun,
But she still has to run,
To follow the sun,
For her it is fun.
A life she chose,
To stand on her toes,
Even if it muddies her nose,
Spotlight will overcome the slows,
She works hard to earn her own clothes,
Even if she occasionally falls on her elbows.
Yet those who have never felt a passion burning,
Lived a hard life full of dreams and yearning,
They will never try to carry such a burden,
Which makes their voices self-serving,
As they go ban women performing,
To rob a dancer from her earning.
> A side comment that I cannot help but to make:
> Who are these foul anti-woman fundamentalists?
> None other than the left's progressive feminists.
Shower
My armpit stench,
It put me under bench,
Made me spout in French,
Forced my body to clench,
And thus a need to quench,
A naked body to drench,
Shower to rid stench.
Pitfall of Feminist Critique
They do not understand,
What they've drawn on sand,
In their eyes lies merely a brand,
And a soap box to make their stand,
Shout they are displeased and demand,
That whatever before them is turned bland,
Into something infantile enough to understand,
As to them – offence is a reason to have it banned.
Especially when their critique could be summed up as:
> This woman is too pretty, this is sexist!
And it does not represent all women!
> This woman is too ugly, this is
