      I quite liked this one - I'm intrigued by search and rescue teams, and found George incredibly sexy. Very steamy scenes!

      Ellie Price gets an unexpected phone call from her mentally ill father and rushes to Simpson, Colorado, to find him. She finds herself deep in a mystery that started with a headless, handless body in a reservoir and hasn't come to resolution yet. She hires George Holloway to hike with her to a cabin where she believes her father is hiding out. George is the strong, silent type with emphasis on the silent. He very seldom talks and is something of a mystery to the other members of the Search and Rescue Squad.Their hike isn't an easy one. They are dealing with winter weather including a snow storm, an avalanche, and some murderous meth dealers who also want to track down Ellie's father. Along the way, they fall in love but a Chicago girl and a man content to live quietly in the mountains have lots of obstacles to overcome. Did I mention the meth dealers?This was an engaging romantic suspense title with a particularly sweet romance. This is the third novel in this series and we are beginning to have enough pieces to figure out who killed the man in the reservoir. The last few paragraphs were real shockers. I can't wait to read IN SAFE HANDS to get the final pieces of the mystery part of this series.

      This story starts off in Chicago where we meet Eleanor “Ellie” Price who is on a date with a friend of her boss. While at the club she receives a phone call from her estranged and mentally ill father, Baxter, who is spouting off about his friend being killed and that people are coming for him. What is a daughter to do? Driven by worry Ellie proceeds to fly out to the location that her father said he would be heading for, a family cabin high in the woods near Simpson, Colorado.A resident of this town, George Holloway, is a search and rescue volunteer who has lived in Simpson all of his life. He has been alone for many years and has developed the habit of not speaking to anyone unless it is completely necessary. For me that is an intriguing addition to this story but the “why” of it is never explained. When Ellie runs into George she is taken aback by this man and is also a bit intimidated by him. Unfortunately as it turns out George is most likely the only person who can successfully take Ellie to find her father.Determined to find her father whatever the cost Ellie and George set out but little did they know that they were not the only ones seeking Baxter. It seems that Baxter was not as paranoid as Ellie had assumed and before they know it they are fighting for their lives. Desperate to stay alive, desperate to find her father, Ellie and George must overcome many obstacles to achieve their goal of bringing Baxter back.There were many elements of this story that I really enjoyed, for instance the developing relationship between George and Ellie. I found that to be believable. The supporting characters were quirky and there was plenty of humor to be found. The romance angle has a slow build and smolder that I found to be just right given how the characters were developed.I did find the protagonists to be developed but not fully. The supporting characters were static, which is fine in some cases but when written as confidantes they should never be static because then it starts to detract from the story as it was in this case. I would have enjoyed seeing them rounded out. The antagonists were also flat like a pancake and their background was never really fleshed out. The subplots were tied together loosely but the overall plot had parts that were left hanging, unfinished, or finished in a hurried way that left me going “really?” because it felt disconnected.The romance angle was sweet and I have no real complaints there. There are sexy times, funny times, and suspenseful times. Overall it was a nice read and I did enjoy reading this story.*Thank you to Sourcebooks & NetGalley for this ARC of Gone Too Deep*
