    A Message from the President/CEO . . .

Welcome to this third quarter of study in 2016. Here at R.H. Boyd, we have worked diligently to ensure that each quarter of study offers a fresh opportunity to discover what God’s Word can teach His people today through meaningful, in-depth study. For 120 years, we have been dedicated to serving the Church throughout the world by providing Bible studies for God’s faithful people. We trust that this quarter honors our tradition of excellence.

We will begin in July with a unit titled A World Gone Wrong. These lessons out of Paul’s epistle to the Romans highlight the brokenness of the world that has come about due to sin. As it did for the Roman Christians, this letter also convicts us of sins and encourages us to be diligent in seeking to follow God rather than allowing sin to rule in our lives.

Our lessons in Romans continue in August in the unit Life on God’s Terms. While the previous lessons emphasized the brokenness of the world, these final lessons from Romans focus on what it means to live as the people of God in the face of the many struggles and temptations that surround us.

In September, the unit The Sovereignty of God studies texts from the book of Isaiah. Though he prophesied doom for Israel, ultimately Isaiah offered great hope of ultimate restoration for God’s people. These prophecies were realized in the person of Jesus Christ who invites all nations to come to God and worship in His peaceful Kingdom.

As always, we look forward to sharing this quarter of study with you. The reason for our continued work here at R.H. Boyd is to help strengthen God’s Church through these Bible studies. This commitment has been renewed every year for more than a century, and we look forward to many more years serving the Lord’s people.

    In His Service,

    Dr. T. B. Boyd III

    President/CEO

    QUARTERLY OVERVIEW

This quarter has three units that explore the theme of creation and emphasize our need for new creation in Christ because of the sin and disobedience in which human beings have continually participated.

    UNIT I — JULY

Unit I, titled A World Gone Wrong, has four sessions that look at Paul’s words to the church at Rome about the need to turn from ungodliness, wickedness, and corruption and to move toward realization of the creation God intended: a loving, obedient relationship with God through the redeeming power of Jesus Christ.

    UNIT II — AUGUST

Unit II, Life on God’s Terms, is a six-session study, also in Romans, of Paul’s visions of what life is like when we become new creations in Christ.

    UNIT III — SEPTEMBER

Unit III, The Sovereignty of God, has four lessons exploring how the prophet Isaiah views the reign of God over the whole world as a peaceful kingdom, a mountain of God, the foundations of the earth, and in a new and everlasting covenant.
