    Introduction

    Where it all began

    In 2010 my wife Amber and I decided to start a marketing company. We had been involved in marketing and advertising for a combined total of around 20 years. We saw a gap in the market for a company that could offer something new in a space that was dominated by marketing companies and PR firms delivering a very lacklustre result for their clients. So we set up shop in our one-bedroom apartment, and decided to work in full-time jobs while at the same time creating our marketing empire on the side.

    King Creative Media was born, but it was by no means an easy road to begin with. Like every small business we were faced with the constant stress of where to find more customers, how to make more sales, and how to get media coverage. We tried everything we knew to grow our business: we attended events, read books, worked with clients who weren’t ideal, and accepted jobs that offered little to no money. I guess you could call this the hard yards of our business empire, the beginning of something that at the time we truly didn’t know whether we could do full time or not.

    Whatever we did, we couldn’t find a simple structure that worked for us and gave outstanding results. We needed more sales. We needed more customers. We needed more media coverage.

    No matter what we read, who we spoke to or what we were told, no one could give us a straight answer on how to increase revenue in our business or could assist us with how we could get more customers. Some people would say, "Well, you’re the marketing company – shouldn’t we be asking you that question?"…and rightly so. We were supposed to be the experts, and yet here we were struggling to build our own marketing business, and when we asked how we could get more media attention or coverage, people simply said you had to pay for it…at the time, that was all that was available. Pretty dismal support, don’t ya think?

    Then it dawned on both of us: there must be an easier, more cost effective way for us to establish ourselves in a saturated marketplace. There must be a simple method that we can develop that can help business owners grow their companies without having to use the same boring techniques and means of advertising, especially in the time of the information age and with all the new internet tools available to us – surely there must be a way. So Amber and I set out on a journey to create a method for our own business, one that if it worked would solely be because of our hard work, effort and determination. Through trial and error we tried everything we could. We were always learning, adapting and refining. We got better and better at securing customers for our business, growing media attention, and also increasing our sales quarter upon quarter. Two years later we had it – just the thing: a five-step marketing method that helped our clients get more sales, gain more customers, and grow our media coverage. We learnt that our five-step formula could also be used on many different types of businesses as well, and that it really didn’t matter what product they had or which industry they were in, the problems were still the same and our system could help.

    After working with many different clients and trying this same formula on our own business, we feel confident sharing our secret with the world.

    How our method greatly improved our business

    How did we know that this five-step formula worked, and that it was the right time to start talking about it? Well, because we used it on our own business first, and took our company from two people working part time in a one-bedroom apartment to a staff of five people looking after marketing and PR for global clients from around the world. We now have an office suite located in Docklands, Melbourne, generating over $250,000 per annum – in less than 24 months! Pretty amazing stuff, and something that both Amber and I are extremely proud of.

    So…what did we do?

    We developed a step-by-step process to streamline our approach and focus on what really matters: Sales. Customers. Media coverage.

    I know what you’re thinking: there’s so many marketing methods out there today, so what makes our step-by-step method so good? Well, simply put, our method is also proven, meaning we have actually used it on real clients and they have had their returns increased just by using it. Also, we used it on our own business, so not only are we practising what we preach, but we stand by it. Lastly, our method takes all the guesswork out of your marketing and makes it easier for you to start getting great results straight away. Marketing can be very complicated; the planning, the assets, the ideas and constant management of all areas can sometimes be very overwhelming. We wanted something that could help people from all walks of life no matter the size of their business. We also wanted something simple to understand and easy to implement as well.

    Our five-step method has improved a lot of aspects in our business. Conversion times for securing clients was reduced from three to six months to just two to six weeks. We charged more than ever before, and we were featured in the media both in Australia and in New Zealand. We only helped the clients that we most wanted to work with, and we loved what we did each and every day. Our method gave us the business that we had always wanted. It truly worked, and we were the proof of that.

    My method is a combination of real-life experiences, case studies and actual results from companies that I have worked with. It has taken years to develop and perfect. Many hundreds of thousands of dollars were spent on these
