      I really enjoyed this--this story had a great flow to it.

      What a clean, delightful story. It puts a different angle on how some view a Pastor's life. While recently married, a graduating student of theology received an opportunity to move to a small town where an ailing Pastor need an assistant. When barely moved in - and overwhelmed with a welcoming community-, the previous Pastor got worse and soon the full ministry fell on the very young Pastor. Wanting to show his commitment, he poured himself in serving their congregations need. Feeling overwhelmed and ignored, the Pastor's wife had a final issue she had to endure alone, because he was unavailable to her, so left and went back to live with her father. She had lost her mother to cancer when she was sixteen and when she returned home to her father she discovered his health was failing. She soon ended up running their failing deli business alone. She never expected her honeymoon would be traveling to a new state and a small, dull town. She never had any alone time with her husband who put everyone's needs before her own. This is not the life she expected. A mutual friend died and she was called to meet with the lawyer to find what the lady had left her for an inheritance. When she approached the elevator, who was there - just as shocked as she- but her husband who she'd not seen since six years ago. A shock was in store for both of them. It is a fun story how they each dealt with their individual situation and tried to make the best of it. Could they endure what they were expected to to each receive their sizable inheritance? It dragged in a couple of places and a little repetitive but well worth the reader' time.

      This was an interesting story line for me and at times difficult to believe. Maura Sullivan finds herself back in Granger for a quick visit and then "get out of town" before someone sees me. What she wasn't expecting was to find her husband at the reading of a will that she hasn't seen or spoken to for 6 years. Nick Shepherd is the pastor in this small community and has been for 6 years. Although both their hearts were broken 6 years ago, they find themselves thrown together again by the reading of this will. And I think you all know how this story will end.I guess there are married couples who drift apart because one is so focused on their job and the other can't speak up and say what the problem is, but I find it hard to believe that for 6 years neither party tried to fix this problem if they loved each other as it was obvious they truly did. I enjoyed watching them get to know one another all over again, except this time they both listened, talked and became aware of their mates thoughts and feelings. I enjoyed reading the story, I just had a hard time wrapping my mind around some of the things that took place; but that is why it is called "fiction"!

      Maura Sullivan left Granger, Ohio and her estranged husband behind her…or so she thought. When she is given an inheritance by a woman she barely knew back in that town, she goes back and hopes to put the past completely behind her. This is different from stories I usually read. Maura is not very likable at first and neither is Nick, her estranged husband. The church shuns her, which seems more fitting a hundred years ago rather than in present day. However, the story builds and the characters become more likeable. I thought the main plot point at the climax came out of left field, but I still enjoyed the book.
