Kate Allatt – Survivor - Winner Extraordinary Woman 2011- Founder ‘Fighting Strokes’ charity - Internationally Published Author - Motivational Speaker ‘Imagine being buried alive, where you can think and feel normally, but move absolutely nothing? You can hear & see everything going on but you are unable to communicate you can understand anything to anyone? Well that was Kate and fortunately she has have fully recovered. Today, she aims to inspire other people’s recoveries globally. The first of her three books - ‘Running Free' - was internationally published. Kate works voluntarily for her Fighting Strokes charity. She is a keynote motivational speaker and author of two other self-published books, ‘Gonna Fly Now!’ (2012) and ‘I Am Still The Same’ (November 2014). Kate has pioneered some national stroke recovery research which has recently received funding of £250,000. She is currently filming a documentary about dispelling the idea that once someone is diagnosed with Locked-In Syndrome they will always stay ‘trapped’ forever.
