About this ebook

It's Christmas again at St Mary's and time for Max's obligatory illegal jump. On this occasion, however, they're right up against it. A loaded gun has been left behind in Ancient Egypt and it's up to St Mary's historians to retrieve it before someone accidentally blows their own head off, thus affecting the timeline for centuries to come. And as if that's not enough, Max has inadvertently poisoned Mr Markham. It's hot, they're running out of supplies, they can't find the gun, and it's all going horribly wrong. Again.

As previously noted, I'm listening to these in altogether the wrong order. This is another short story, #6.5 in the St. Mary's series.

It's Christmas, and time for certain traditions to be observed. One of those traditions is, of course, Max's illegal jump to solve a problem that coulld become something much, much worse. She, Markham, and Peterson head off to ancient Egypt to retrieve a handgun accidentally left behind by an agent who should never have brought it in the first place.

But this is St. Mary's, and another unbreakable tradition is that things will go horribly, improbably, in ways that only very smart people trying to avoid trouble could manage.

The characters remain interesting, exasperating, and fun to spend time with, and continue to appeal to my slightly twisted sense of humor.

    Recommended.

    Merry Christmas

Another disaster(s) for the tea-soaked disaster magnets of St. Mary's and this one is a stonker. Really enjoyed this seasonal short story.

Perfection! Fast paced, funny and poignant. Left me wanting more though - not that is was bad in any way -- just wanted more and more. If you haven't read any of this series - get thee to a bookstore (in case of this series - download the audio -- even better) asap! Also poor Markham and --- umm who knew Toilet Paper would make such a difference.

Just in time for Christmas is another short story by Jodi Taylor. Max and her confederates must return to ancient Egypt to locate a gun, misplaced by an earlier crew of time-traveling historians. Typical for St.Mary's, the mission goes tits-up in spectacular fashion. I've enjoyed the humor and warmth of this series a great deal and look forward to future installments!

A fun audiobook short story about time travel. Its only tie to Christmas is that is the time the "contemporary" portion of the story is set. I liked this well enough to be interested in trying one of the full length novels in the series.

Quick read, problem solved and Christmas celebrated.

It's Christmas again at St Mary's, and instead of joining in with the festivities Max, Markham and Peterson jump to Ancient Egypt on a retrieval mission in order to prevent a major temporal crime. Things don't go to plan, however (no surprise there) ...This is the third short story set at Christmas – either in St Mary's real time or at the destination in history – so it's becoming something of a tradition. While these stories don't necessarily move on the plot, they are always worth reading for their sheer inventiveness and to find out what disaster befalls the historians (or Markham, or both) this time.
