About this series

The prophecy says a bird will rise up and rule the nonhumans, and everyone thinks Avery Clavens is that bird, but what if she isn’t? While preparing for the battle against Malphas and his forces, Avery has some moments of doubt. She knows it isn’t the best time to contemplate whether she’s been led astray, but with lives on the line, there really is no time like the present.

Avery isn’t the only one trying to figure out if she’s really the focus of the prophecy. The other side has information that will change the way Avery sees someone who claims to be a friend. With all the other surprises Avery’s dealt with, one more on the pile is barely enough to faze her.

The big question in Avery’s world is whether she’ll be able to keep the vision of her brother dying from coming true. Saving the world and her brother is something that is all in a day’s work, but whether that’s Avery’s job or someone else’s is still to be determined.

So Avery has found out she’s a mythical creature. That's got to be pretty cool, right? On the plus side, it comes with all sorts of cool powers that she’s learning how to control. It also means she, probably, can’t be mortally wounded. It’s only probably because something went a little haywire with her last resurrection and no one really knows what’s happening. Part of the faulty resurrection made her lose all memories of her past lives. Those memories include a soul mate, who’s now her fiancé in this lifetime, and five children. When their oldest child calls to let Nate know that their youngest daughter is missing in Alaska, Avery and Nate, with a few friends, drop everything to rush to save her. Will they make it in time? What secrets does the tiny town in Alaska hold? It's all anybody's guess, but it means they’ll be working through the weekend.

Welcome to the world according to Avery Clavens. She's finally bit the bullet and become an undercover agent. That was only after taking a couple bullets herself. Somehow over the past couple months of recovery she hasn't killed her now partner, Agent Nathaniel Barnes. Miracles do happen. Now they are on their first case together and everyone knows chaos is going to ensue. It seems someone is leaking classified documents from some top secret government lab out in the middle of nowhere. The powers that be won't tell them what the documents are, they just need to find out who is getting them out of the building and put a stop to it. You would think with Avery and Nate on the job everything would run smoothly, yeah right. For them, it's just another day at the office.

"Hello everyone, I’m Avery Clavens and what you’re about to hear and witness may seem like something out of a science fiction or horror movie, but believe me it’s real. There were no computer graphics done for this segment. My partner here is Nathaniel Barnes and we believe it’s time to let everyone in on a little secret." After Avery and the team battle a group of warlocks in New England, it's decided that it's time for them to stop hiding in the shadows. Avery also finds it's time for her to man, or woman, up and take leadership of not only her group of misfits, but also the rest of the uniques. With Nate by her side, the task becomes a little easier, but Fate always has plans of her own, and may throw a wrinkle or two in Avery's path. Even though her job with the FBI is on hold because of everything else going on in her world, it really is just another day and she's trying to earn another dollar in the crazy world she finds herself living in.

Avery Clavens is an average, somewhat socially awkward woman who works as a research assistant in a New York library. At least that's what everyone who knows her believes. In actuality, Avery was caught doing something wrong in her youth by a secret government agency, and when faced with either jail time or being recruited by the agency, she found orange really wasn't her color. After seven years of nothing too exciting happening in the office, she is forced to go undercover with an agent she's pretty sure speaks the English language as interpreted by Martians. It doesn't help that she feel drawn to said agent, or that there is a weird spark anytime the two of them touch. Can the two of them stop arguing long enough to get their man? Avery doesn't know, but dealing with Agent Barnes definitely isn't in her job description.

I love books. Until recently, I kept to just reading them, but ideas for characters and scenes took control of my mind and made me have to get those ideas down. I have been writing for about a year and have really enjoyed working out the process of taking my ideas and forming new worlds for others to enjoy. This whole writing thing is still a hobby for me. I sit down on weeknights and weekends and just float over to my other worlds for a while. Other hobbies of mine include: drawing, baking, arts and crafts, motorcycles, hockey, and archery. I like to think I have eclectic tastes where my hobbies are concerned. I love to laugh and try to at least make myself smile once a day. With the crazy thoughts going on in my head that usually isn't hard.
