    My Other Books

Dedicated to the fine few, the Brave; the Realised, bound to a Cause others have closed their eyes to, a Sacrifice that can never be measured.

    Acknowledgements

Many thanks to my good friends Dr Jawad K and Ms Adrina Agus Din who allowed me to relentlessly bounce ideas and forward my 'freshly baked' chapters direct to their mobile phones, with no regards to the unsocial hours in anticipation of their immediate and nurturing feedback.

    Preface

This supernatural sci-fi thriller is the second book in series. I am so excited about the series that I could not wait to tell you about it and have decided to release the book bit by bit, 'day by day.' as the events in the world of 'The Last Bastion of Ingei' reveals itself. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have relished writing it. This book was self-edited and proofread, which means you may find some mistakes. Please feel free to contact me tony@b1percent.com and I will reward you with a gift!

As you will find out I have not mentioned which Southeast Asian country this story is based in. This is due to local sensitivities and superstitions surrounding the supernatural topic at the heart of the story. Indeed, over the past few years, I have discovered some truths and untruths about the Unseen who appear in shadows in the fleeting moments of our weakness, in times of their accumulated strength, working beyond the jungles and into our modern global world to sow fear and discord as they seek to regain what they believe to be rightfully theirs - our world. And yet we are all unaware, blinded by the dazzle of modernity, deaf to the beat of our own hearts trying to make sense of an existence that is spiralling out of control, as the corrupt offer themselves to lead us out of the chaos.

So what if I told you that this story it is actually based on a number of real accounts, real legends and real tragedy?

What if I told you one of the central stories is an account of an actual soldier who went missing for 23 days in the jungles of Labi, and when he was found malnourished and in bad shape, he said he had ventured into a 'village' not of this world...

And what if I told you that the search party which included elite rangers had witnessed a series of bizarre horrific events in the jungles of Labi that no scientist could explain...

The characters in this book series are actually based on real people, though some characters are an amalgam of several individuals so as to protect their real identities.

There is a local saying that we should leave things the way they are, and yet the injustice remains hidden right in front of us, in front of our very eyes. So I invite you to cone with me on a journey into a terrifying world of unimaginable power and brute strength in which the inhabitants harbour the most malevolent and destructive of intentions towards humanity....

    Location: Joint Operations Centre, Hilaga

We are both off the Bumi missions.

Selym looks me in the eyes, I can see he is not too happy about this. On the other hand, I am definitely not ready for a Bumi Kill mission.

Is that from the boss? I ask.

Yes, Lord Jahat commands it, Selym nods and runs his right hand through his light brown hair, stopping halfway and then gripping it as though to check his hair strength is still there.

Lord Jahat wants us to do some research here on the Karin and his abilities.

The Locked Archives? Are we even allowed to go there? Have we been granted access? I ask. When someone wants serious research, we always go to the Hilaga City Archives.

You guessed that right, but first we have to hand our data to Master Serigala.

Hearing that name shocked me. Master Serigala the Ripper? I thought they sent him away… for good.

A voice booms behind, Well, I’m back in business. When things fall apart, they bring in the worst. That’s me!

I freeze with fear. I know this husky deep and commanding voice. Selym looks at the person behind me. He neither smiles nor frowns, just poker-face him.

When the people need me, they flock to me. And when they don’t need me, they throw me away. Politics, I tell you it’s really painful. But hey, I’ve got no grudges with anyone. I’m completely at peace with myself. The great thing about being in solitary confinement for all these years is that it just does me so much good, frees my mind and puts on so many, many different levels of awareness, it does amazing wonders. You two should try it once in a while. Master Serigala places a
