Acknowledgements
I would like to express my deep appreciation for to the following amazing individuals who did not hold back any of their love, knowledge, patience and generosity towards me. It was their abundant cooperation that helped make this book possible.
Mrs. Willa Robinson, who continued to believe, inspire, and support me through this process and gave me this great opportunity to publish this book with confidence, Thank you WILLA!
To my dear friend Latif Majied, who is 3000 miles away, and resides in North Carolina. If it were not for this great man I would have not crossed paths with Mrs. Willa Robinson. He vigorously continued to remind me to stay in touch, to call, and push me beyond my limits to stay on the path to finishing this project. I am grateful for LATIF! Thank you and may God bless you greatly in every way!
To my friend Demetria Love, who stayed by my side after my husband passed. She always shares her life with me and her energy. She is one of my greatest friends. I love you D.
To my niece Alicia Walker, for being an inspiration and moving through her life with strength and passion, keeping her head up no matter what crosses her path. Alicia, you are a phenomenal young lady turning into a great woman.
To Alice Gregory, Thank you for embracing our family.

To my sister Mara Walker, Thank you for our laughs, our disagreements, and our successes. We always seem to find one another through rain, sleet, and snow, managing a good laugh in the process.
To the distinct and powerful Eloise Laws. I could never forget your poise, beauty and the prolific conversation of your knowledge and truth when I interviewed you. Readers, Eloise Law’s book, The Healing Shower is sure to give you position. Thank you Eloise Laws.
Thank you all for your hearts and for those hearts loving me!
Preface
We all have wondered in our minds that there is something missing. We look for the missing in others, like our mothers or fathers who have abandoned us, or in a significant other hoping to find the missing piece of ourselves in them.
Searching and searching we still do not find, until we give up and look in the mirror
