About this ebook

When Ryan chose to return to 2012 to save Eden from certain death, he knew that he would be altering the timeline of the world--but he didn't expect to be followed, or that the "cleaner" from his own time would be so ruthless. Soon, there is nowhere for the star-crossed lovers to run. Capture is inevitable.

Eden and Ryan must travel to Ryan's present era of 2123 to face trial. In prison, Eve contemplates everyone she has ever known having lived and died many years before and facing a likely permanent separation from Ryan. Escaping would mean certain death. Taking the blame would save Ryan--but would result in life imprisonment. All Eden wants is Ryan, but is it possible--given the threat their love poses to the thread of time--that they can ever be together?

The stakes are high in this epic cross-century romance where love bends the laws of time and reason.

Helen Douglas

Helen Douglas graduated from the LSE with a degree in economic history. After a stint as a subeditor in London, she moved to California, where she worked as a theatre director, then as an English teacher. A keen stargazer, one of her first memories is of getting up in the middle of the night to sneak outside and watch the Perseid meteor shower with a friend. It was a telescope that she received as a birthday gift that helped inspire EDEN. She now lives in Cornwall with her husband and children.

Source: bloomsbury via netgalleyDisclaimer: I received this book as an ARC (advanced review copy). I am not paid for this review, and my opinions in this review are mine, and are not effected by the book being free. I didn't remember the first one so I was very confused until about 4% in. Then I slowly started to get a handle on things... But I knew that I enjoyed the romance and the characters in the first book, so I wanted to stick with it. Side note: I am also very confused because I got this on netgalley, but goodreads says it was published two years ago... I was glad that I stuck with it because I got very into the story at about 20%. I liked meeting Ryan's friends in the future. Eden's transition was hard to watch because suddenly she was in the spotlight, in a new time, knowing hardly no one, and they had Ryan locked up awaiting trial. Peg was my favorite of Ryan's friends, and he was a good friend to Eden, helping her adjust and helping her plan for her and Ryan to be back together. The love story was still present, but it took a backseat to her planning, adjustment and the action of trying to free Ryan after he's sentenced to work in the moon mines for the rest of this life. The ending was interesting and fit, but not sure if they will have more of a story, or if that was the final piece. I think I am okay either way... Bottom Line: Slow to start but became a nice

Note: Spoilers for the first book in this series.Chasing Stars continues the story that began with After Eden. Eden is now with her boyfriend Ryan over one hundred years in the future, in the year 2123. But Ryan immediately gets arrested for violating time travel laws, and faces a life in prison on the moon. Eden works with Ryan’s friends to try to release him from an overly caricatured bad guy by a series of very improbable schemes.Evaluation: The book isn’t too bad, but I think I wouldn’t recommend it except for tweens and younger teens.
