About this ebook
Discovery is a collection of three short stories or flash fiction pieces where each focus on the theme of discovery. Two of the three installments are fantasy pieces of exploring new places and new situations, both wondrous and horrid. The other piece follows a young, everyday man caught up in a horrible accident that changes his life forever.
Havel's Demise is the first story, following a little boy in the town of Havel within a fantastical world known as Aethros. In this boy's life, he is only hours from it being turned upside-down by an army of raiding barbarians. Will the boy be able to survive this encounter and find his father before it's too late?
Blindsided is the story of a young man caught in heavy traffic on the way to visit his wife's parents. An accident in the distance appears to be the source of the backed up highway, and Brandon steps out to see what the commotion is all about. As he takes steps closer and closer towards the commotion, a flipped SUV comes into vision. Brandon crawls inside to see if anybody is still trapped and the car begins to bank towards the edge of a cliff. Will Brandon be able to get himself out of this situation?
The Thomas History Chronicles, Book One: City of Companion follows a journalist in the same world as the previous story, Havel's Demise. The journalist, Thomas, writes entries in his history books as he travels the fantastical world for myths, monsters, and adventure. His first story is the discovery and origination of the mysterious city of Companion, a town built and managed my both man and man's best friend.

Havel’s Demise
I can’t wait much longer, my arms are starting to twitch without having something to kill in some time. They’re just standing there, so close…
Crunch said with drool dripping from his mouth. He stood up and crept forward out of the forest.
Melik punched Crunch and pulled him back into the brush. We have many mouths to feed, don’t start the hunt until everyone is in position. We can’t let any get away.
Crunch jumped up and down. Maybe we can gut one of the stragglers without the rest of the herd knowing. I’m sure we can find some meat on ‘em. What do you think, Karnus?
Karnus put his hand up to silence the others. The sun grabbed the earth and pulled itself under the mountain ridge. The sky stumbled into the dark. Karnus took a breath and unsheathed his sword from his belt. He let out a roar that shook the tree line and brought silence to the area. He turned around and raised his sword. Let the hunt begin.
The brush rustled loudly as a hundred other swordsman grew closer to the hunting grounds. Each of them was covered head to toe in pure muscle. These men were trained warriors closing in on the small village of Havel. Havel sat on the Central Western side of Aethros.
The village of Havel was quiet tonight. The only sound was the occasional tink, tink, tonk of
