Bad Romance

The present, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Sapphire is very upset with herself. She had done the unthinkable. She allowed herself to feel love with a man when having sex with him. No make matters worse, of all the men in her life to allow herself this vulnerability, it had to be with Kyle. Sapphire thinking back to those events that led her into Kyle’s arms. Sapphire’s time with Kyle had begun like any other time. She had been on a mercenary mission in Bogota, Columbia for strategic strikes against Talon’s mega-maniac plans for the world in his righteous evil.

The past, Bogota, Columbia.

Sapphire and Kyle’s contacts, and a cartel leader named El Muerte with his men had provided information about the number of combat trained security men Talon had in the Bogota business tower, as well as strategic locations of what they needed to cripple Talon’s empire in South America. Sapphire, Kyle, and Bullet arrived with their teams disguised as United States investors with their selected employees for the running of an investor office. This investor office taking up all the lower floor under their targeted 65th floor. El Muerte’s cartel had built a false wall filled with weapons for Sapphire, Kyle, and Bullet’s teams to arm themselves when they arrived.

When they had arrived in their different vehicles at the location, each of Sapphire, Kyle, and Bullet’s teams advanced separately up the cartel secretly constructed elevator to the 65th floor staging areas. Each of the teams fitted for the heavy hitting fire power back-up were packing heavy duty weapons and many ammo clips.

Sapphire with Jack, team member with the laptop skills, is with her and their respective teams. Sapphire is packing two self-loading action shotguns. Jack, the weapon loaded nerd with the laptop slung over his shoulder armed with a pistol-grip pump action 12-gauge shotgun.

Kyle’s weapons were two M-4 Carbines with shortened-barrel, collapsible-stock, and fitted M-203 grenade launchers. His respective team armed with UMPs and AKA rifles.

Bullet is brandishing a HK-416 assault rifle with a 40-mm under barrel grenade launcher. Her respective team slapping and readying their sub-machine guns.

Once in the staging area, for an all-out shoot out, all team leaders with their team members coordinated their separate advancement up the secret elevator to the 65th floor staging area. The teams regularly checking their time-pieces as they traversed through the floor levels positioning themselves up on each floor. They checked their time-pieces and waited for Sapphire’s signal.

Sapphire gets in position as she removes and unfolds a piece of paper, checks her time piece, then she gives the signal. Kyle opens a hole through the wall with his M-4 Carbine grenade launcher. Kyle’s team enters first with the submachine guns opening just above Talon’s men’s heads making them drop to the ground. Sapphire and her team charge in next opening fire with her self-loading action shotgun while Bullet follows with her team leading them with blazing bullets hitting their targets with deadly accuracy. Bullet at the same time with her HK-416 assault rifle launching of some 40-mm grenades. Kyle and Bullet’s teams fired upon with submachine guns from Talon’s numerous men. Kyle and Bullet with their teams of drawn weapons and return fire. Kyle and his team move into position to provide cover fire for Sapphire, Jack and their team. Bullet and her team cover for Kyle and his team. Jack follows closely beside Sapphire while both are firing at Talon’s men. They get to the strategic spot where Jack positions himself next to Sapphire when she stops at a specific location in the office.

Once Jack is beside Sapphire, she directs both in the advancement to the designated area to link the laptop. Bullet and Kyle with their teams continued to provide heavy weapons fire cover. Many on Bullet’s team noticing how deadly and quickly she kills so many of Talon’s heavily armed combat trained men. Jack does his business with the laptop. Sapphire providing cover fire as Jack focuses on completing his task of linking the laptop, download the information, waited for the indicator to register 100% loaded, does quick finger tapping for erasing the system; waiting for the indicator to register 100% erased.

Upon 100% erased confirmation, Jack quickly stashes the laptop into his backpack at the same time Sapphire directs designated team members to break open the file cabinets with Talon’s property deeds. Each of Sapphire’s team member stashes the required amounts of deeds into their respective backpacks, sling their backpacks over their shoulders, and heads to their respective exit areas while Jack pulls out his pistol-grip pump action 12-gauge shotgun joining Sapphire firing upon Talon’s men in providing cover fire. At her signal, Sapphire, Jack and their team open fire as they advanced to join Bullet and Kyle with their teams. Sapphire and her team exits first through the demolished wall to the staging area.

She is followed by Kyle and his team opening a path with their heavy-duty weapons making the way ready for Bullet and her team. Bullet sees the opening and leads her team while advancing with deadly accuracy to quickly killing many more of Talon’s men as she leads her team following Kyle and his team in retreat to their staging area.

Sapphire takes her team down the secret elevator. Kyle and his team are providing weapons fire back up as Sapphire and her team are exiting. Bullet’s team provides heavy cover fire with many more of Talon’s men killed by Bullet alone as Kyle’s team made their escape.

The timepieces indicate to Bullet and Kyle that Sapphire and her team had stashed their backpacks with the property deeds and weapons in their respective hidden areas in the 62nd floor for El Muerte to pick up later. Kyle and his team go down while Bullet and her team provide cover fire. By the time, Bullet and her team finish, only a handful of Talon’s men are alive. Bullet and her team arrive as Kyle’s teams follow shortly Sapphire and her team in leaving their weapons in the false walls. Bullet and her team stash their weapons and she presses the secret areas for closing the walls. Seconds later Bullet meets up with Sapphire, Kyle and Jack. Jack passes on the laptop backpack to Sapphire. Sapphire, Bullet, Kyle, and Jack with their team members leave the business tower to disperse to their respective vehicles. Bullet, Sapphire, and Kyles’ team members leave in accordance to their separate routes in their awaiting Escalades.

Sapphire and Kyle make a dash towards their Bentley Mulsanne after exiting the business tower with smiles of success on their faces after their hit against Talon. Sapphire gets into the driver’s seat while Kyle enters their Bentley Mulsanne and buckles in quickly. Sapphire revvvs the Bentley to life. Sapphire and Kyle spot Bullet with ease dive into her awaiting vehicle. As Sapphire sees Bullet take off and at the same time she squeals their Bentley forward to escape on their designated route.

Bullet roaring the powerful 800 plus horsepower engine of her Pagani Huayra sports car to life; slapping the Pagani into gear; burning rubber, hitting 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds till she hits her desired speeds of 231 mph. Bullet makes it in no time to private hanger of the large private jet waiting to take her, Sapphire, Kyle’s teams away. The rest of the mission team members arrive to an already waiting Bullet at the private jet. With smiles and exchanges of a mission well done the team members give nods in acknowledgement to Bullet as they go about seating themselves. Bullet with the teams fly out of private airfield.

Bullet and the team members in no time land with no issues at an Aruba private airstrip, they quickly transfer to an awaiting cargo helicopter then continue the last leg of their journey to their waiting massive headquarters ship in the Caribbean ocean waters.

The past, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Sapphire and Kyle made it with no issues to their awaiting private jet just as Bullet messaged them an all clear on her end with the teams heading towards their Head Quarters ship. Sapphire and Kyle boarded their private jet, flew toward their destination in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A limo was waiting and received Sapphire and Kyle at a private hangar in Buenos Aires upon their landing. The limo transported them to a luxurious Bullet’s 14th floor apartment.

It is an Art Deco masterpiece of the ultimate in elegant-ultra-luxury in Buenos Aires living. Three private tropical garden hanging terraces with panoramic views of the city were part of the experience for Sapphire and Kyle as they walked through four double glass French doors leading to each of the private tropical hanging terraces. Each hanging terrace has its own original artistry crafted spot-lit fountain. From the terraces, they entered to check out all four of the bedrooms and bathrooms fitted with the most exclusive and rare marble transported from five different continents. To Sapphire and Kyle’s joy, they discover in their exploration of the apartment a state of the art fitness room available to them for their use if they desire.

Their next surprise is a floor to ceiling double aspect glass sided tropical fish aquarium in the living room. They consider the extraordinary aquarium as spectacular, filled with the most colorfully exotic ocean fish. They go about to touch and admire the commissioned exclusive custom furniture from Fontnela furniture designers scattered throughout the apartment.

While they waited for their scheduled time to leave, Sapphire and Kyle spent hours talking about the success of their mission, relaxing, and enjoying the panoramic views of the city. Little by little, their time together during the experience of the apartment and the way they were relating to each other was stirring strong feelings in the both of them. They have an exquisite meal, wine, and dessert in the evening with the most professional of staff. Both have continued great conversations about their lives, enjoyable time together ensues causing more stirrings of feelings for each other. They finished their meal and the last of their wine. They escorted the staff out, thanked them for their wonderful service, and said to them a good night. Sapphire and Kyle both slowly walked over to one of the terraces.

But now that he had finally been with her as he had hoped after such a long time, Kyle is feeling major regrets about what they had done. He now is so fearful he may lose Sapphire like he had lost Joyce, the cheerleader from his life. Kyle’s dangerous evil thoughts are starting to creep in of doing harm. Kyle gets up from sitting in the comfortable sofa to pace back and forth in a private area of the apartment to brood.

For over many hours, Kyle brooding of how he was going to fix with what he had experienced with Sapphire. Kyle trying very hard to tame a private area inside himself. The dangerousness that was rearing its ugly destructive force trying to get him to kill others or himself.

Sapphire and Kyle are in their own private Hells staying uncomfortably quiet and apart from each other till their designated time of departure arrives.

It was a very long sleepless night for the both of them. After what seemed an eternity to Sapphire and Kyle as they finally did come out of their respective areas of the apartment the next day. They are avoiding each other when grabbing something quick from breakfast then just as quickly retreating to their own areas of the apartment.

The apartment staff notifies them that their limo is waiting for them. Both not grabbing anything to take with them as they depart Bullet’s apartment in silence. Sapphire keeping slightly ahead in her forceful walking. Kyle looking down at the ground as he follows her. They enter the limo in silence avoiding looking at each other. They sit apart, silently staring out their own individual windows.

On their way being driven to the helicopter, each avoids looking or talking to the other. Each continue silently looking out of their own windows till it is time for exiting the limo to board their helicopter.

They are transported in the limo to an awaiting helicopter at the Pistarini airport. Sapphire exits the limo first and stays ahead of Kyle. Kyle breaths hard as he notices Sapphire walking briskly in front of him. She enters the helicopter and seats herself. Kyle finds seating away from Sapphire to avoid speaking or looking at her when seated in the helicopter. The uneasy silence continues during their long flight back to the massive headquarters ship waiting for them in the Caribbean Sea.

The present, somewhere in the Caribbean Sea.

When Sapphire and Kyle land on the ship in the late afternoon, Sapphire exits the helicopter quickly before Kyle gets up from his seat. She bee-lines her way to the location Tina was most likely to be found.

Kyle slowly exits the helicopter and wanders off into another direction of the massive ship. He makes sure he avoids speaking with any one. He ignores ship’s crew who address him pretending he didn’t hear them.

Sapphire makes her way to the location Tina was most likely to be in. Sapphire is in luck as she spots the person she needs at this time. Tina notices Sapphire enter the planning room. Sapphire glad to see you. Congratulations on a successful mission.

Tina stops herself from continuing as she notices Sapphire’s distress. What’s wrong?

Sapphire replies, It’s something personal. I need for you to get a hold of Bullet and Jacqueline for me now. Inform them to meet me here in the planning room.

Sure thing. Tina proceeds to work with the super positron artificial life known as PAL in locating Bullet and Jacqueline.

Tina knows enough about Sapphire not to ask anymore what was going on with her. If Sapphire did not offer the information, Tina was not going to ask. Tina and PAL connecting first to medical for locating Jacqueline. She is one of the Medical Doctors who is director of medical services of the over 300 bed medical facility on the massive ship.

This is Jacqueline.

Hi, Jacqueline, this is Tina. Sapphire has requested I contact you for a special meeting involving you and Bullet. Can you make time to come in now?

There is a pause on the other side.

Jacqueline is processing, Something serious must have come up with Sapphire. It’s not like Tina to contact me for a meeting with Sapphire. Sapphire has never called me in like this for such a meeting. I wonder what the emergency is? Sure Tina. I’ll be there shortly. I’ll inform my husband Charles to watch over medical operations and then I’ll be right there.

Tina, Thanks Jacqueline.

Their communication ends. Tina knew locating Bullet was going to be a little tougher. Alright PAL do your magic in locating Bullet.

PAL reports, I have done some scanning. Probability has it she is in one of the exercise areas of the ship at this time. Probability from type of exercise she engages during this time of the week suggests a specific exercise area of the ship.

Tina, Great, connect us.

PAL, Connecting The sound of the communication device being answered is heard.

Jack here.

Jack. This is Tina in the planning room. Sapphire needs to get a hold of Bullet. She around?

Jack, She sure is. I’ll get her. After several moments of background noise.

Bullet here.

Tina, Hi Bullet. Thanks for responding.

Bullet, Sure. I understand Sapphire needs to meet with me?

Tina, Yes, Sapphire has requested that you and Jacqueline meet with her soon in the planning room. Jacqueline is already on her way.

Bullet, I’ll be perspiring a little, but I’ll be there shortly.

Tina faces Sapphire. Well, they are on their way.

Tina pauses and goes into her private thoughts, Something is seriously going on with Sapphire. I think I’ll excuse myself from the planning room before Bullet and Jacqueline arrive. Wow, this is bad when even I can tell something major is bothering Sapphire.

Sapphire looks up into Tina’s face. Tina connecting with Sapphire’s eyes then voices, If there is nothing else you need from me; I would like to attend to some other matters away from the planning room.

Sapphire stays connected with Tina’s eyes. "Thank you for getting hold of Bullet and Jacqueline. I guess they will be arriving soon.

Before you attend to your private matters, there is something else I need from you and PAL."

Tina nods her head inviting Sapphire to continue.

She expresses, "I would like for you and PAL to locate Kyle. Don’t approach him. I just need for the both of you to find him. Once you locate him, monitor his movements. Don’t approach him. I will have Jacqueline and Bullet contact you when I hope you have located him.

If you do find him, stay with Kyle until Bullet and Jacqueline get to your location. When they join you at the location where you are monitoring Kyle, the three of you will know what to do next."

Tina trying to understand what the whole thing with Kyle is about. "Alright, I will do my best with PAL to locate Kyle. If we can locate him, I will keep a lookout on him. I will be available for when Bullet and Jacqueline want to reach me. If I do find Kyle, I will stay at my location until they arrive with the next steps for addressing Kyle.

Is that all?"

Sapphire voices, "Yes, that’s the plan.

Oh, one more thing, I need to meet with you, Bullet, and Jacqueline tomorrow morning in my room. We will go over what happens next depending on what Kyle does when you guys deal with him."

Tina, Sure, I will see you in the morning Sapphire. Wish me luck with Kyle and my meeting with Bullet and Jacqueline. I hope PAL and I find Kyle.

Sapphire looks at Tina, I do wish you luck. With that, Tina exits the planning room.

All by herself, Sapphire in the planning room reflects. Thank goodness for Tina. I know if Kyle is on the ship, she will locate him. If she could locate Candida missing for so many years in all of New York City for Bullet, she will be able to locate Kyle. If he’s on the ship. I’m hoping he is somewhere on this ship so she can find him. I hope she finds him alive. Bullet and Jacqueline are my other best choices at this meeting for helping me with the next hard part. In talking things out with them, I hope to get help so I can keep myself from falling apart.

I know Kyle well enough to know he is bothered as me after us having sex. I know he has disappeared because he is trying to figure out what to do next. Hopefully he has disappeared into somewhere on the ship, to go over the heavy feelings he must be trying to figure out from what happened between us. I know him well enough to know he’s thinking of what a mess we’re both in. I’m hoping he doesn’t overdo it with his drugs because of all this. I would hate for him to be hospitalized or worse die. He would have been the one to oversee operations of this place if something was to happen to me. Now both of us are not in the proper frame of mind to do anything useful of leading the team. What shall I tell Bullet and Jacqueline? I have been honest with the both of them in the past when difficult issues have come up. They have been through personal difficult situations that may be helpful for me now. I think I need to trust them with my needs at this time. I need to tell them straight up what’s going on with me.

Sapphire is interrupted from her thoughts as she hears Jacqueline the first to arrive.

Sapphire faces Jacqueline with a most different look than she has ever seen of their leader. Jacqueline decides to continue as normal. "Great work on the mission in Columbia. No life threating wounds to treat from this latest Columbia mission. Nothing major for us at medical to deal with. Bullet was a major miracle with not a scratch on her while killing so many of Talon’s men from what I heard. Glad, you and Kyle made it back safely.

Hope you and Kyle had a relaxing time in Buenos Aires after the mission. We sure did celebrate here on the ship after Bullet’s arrival. Such a successful return of Bullet to the team was great. She did seem to get uncommonly emotional during one of the times. I figured it had to do with Candida’s death. Besides this, everything about the mission went so well. Bullet being able to get right back in there into the action with a successful mission after her healing from Rome."

Jacqueline had noticed Sapphires reaction when she mentioned Kyle. She pauses, then voices. I’m a little surprised you have called me to a meeting in this manner. My guess, something has come up. I’ll wait for Bullet to arrive for the details.

Sapphire faces Jacqueline, Thanks for coming Jacqueline. You are on target with your guess that something major has come up. Thank you for understanding while we wait till Bullet arrives before we talk. It’s funny you should mention Buenos Aires. There is an interesting story about Kyle and me in Buenos Aires. As if summoned by calling out her name, Bullet enters through the doorway.

Bullet announces upon entering the planning room, I heard my name. Here I am. Well, I have arrived to get right into whatever it is needs fixing.

She looks at both. Forgive my manners. Hi Sapphire. Hi Jacqueline.

Sapphire responds, Hi Bullet. Thank you for coming.

Jacqueline voices, Good to see you Bullet. You don’t look all the worn since you’ve gotten into the swing of things after the first mission from your healing since Rome.

Bullet looks at Jacqueline. Sure, I feel great to be back into the action. I was surprised at the ease I handled the mission.

Then Bullet faces Sapphire, Well, enough about me, you are calling this meeting sure is out of sorts for you. What’s up?

Sapphire faces Bullet and Jacqueline. "We were waiting for you to arrive, so I could get yours and Jacqueline’s help.

Great timing, in getting here."

Bullet offers, Good to know I have great timing. I’m guessing this is a private meeting with nobody else privy to the information. I’ll go ahead and close the door.

Sapphire supports, Yes. Thank you. Please do.

Bullet closes the door and seats herself next to Jacqueline.

Jacqueline faces Bullet, "Hey Bullet. I can’t get over how you seem to be extraordinarily recovering well from your massive wounds. You even seem younger and stronger. I don’t know if I can give the plastic surgery all the credit as your wounds seem to have healed very well for this last mission in crippling Talon’s evil plans. You don’t show signs of any medical complications with the mission in Columbia. In fact, I can’t get over you did not even get a scratch by from all those 75 plus men shooting and attacking you.

By the way, I had a great time with you during the special celebration meal after the Columbia mission. Thank you for being a big part in making that celebration happen. I am glad you gave yourself a much-needed special moment to remember Candida."

Bullet replies to Jacqueline. I had a good time and enjoyed the celebration meal Tina and I put together for all of us after the Columbia mission. My abilities feel so different and allowed me to remember feelings for Candida. She was such an important part of my life. I thought it was time to celebrate on several accounts. It seemed to me that you and the others enjoyed the celebration too.

Jacqueline, We did enjoy ourselves. How’s your abilities, now that you mentioned it?

Bullet, "My abilities feel very different than my zone of the past. I’ve been able to do things now that are not typical of me. I went right into the middle of the mission and out of the mission with no issues in my body. I was surprised to be responding much faster and with less effort than I ever have.

On a very different subject, I think we have given Sapphire enough time to get herself put together during our talk. What do you think?"

Jacqueline with a mischievous grin nods a ‘Yes.’ She turns to face Sapphire.

Bullet faces Sapphire, "Now that we have given you all the time in the world, enough about Jacqueline and my talks. Now back to you.

I am curious, what happened between you and Kyle’s stay in my apartment in Buenos Aires while all went well over here on the ship?"

Sapphire stays silent, looks away from the both of them. She then looks down at the floor after this comment from Bullet. Bullet faces Jacqueline. Jacqueline connects with Bullet. Both knowing something with Kyle had happened in Buenos Aires to create such a response from Sapphire. Bullet and Jacqueline face Sapphire waiting for her to say something back to them. Sapphire connects to Bullet and Jaqueline’s eyes. There are a few more moments of uncomfortable silence. A few more moments of staring at each other. Sapphire breaths in deep and exhales slowly.

Sapphire begins, "Kyle and I enjoyed Buenos Aires very much as it took the both of us to place we had not counted on. I wasn’t sure where to start. You have given me an excellent lead Bullet.

I’ll start with…because of what happened in your Buenos Aires apartment…Kyle and I are compromised. I need the both of you to help me so I can get my life back together. I need the both of you to contact Tina after this meeting. I would like for the both of you to meet up with Tina. I gave Tina the task of locating Kyle. She should be able to tell you of Kyle’s location or what needs to be done immediately if something bad has happened.

If anyone can find someone it’s Tina. I need to find out what’s happened with Kyle regarding his safety, as well as the safety of others he’s around if need be. After your finding out about Kyle, I want the both of you to meet up with her and me at my place in the morning, tomorrow, to go over what happened."

Bullet and Jacqueline only blink their eyes in silence as they gaze into Sapphire’s eyes after she finishes her confusing talking.

Jacqueline voices what Bullet and she had been thinking. Sapphire, you’re making no sense about what is happening. What’s going on? Talk to us a though we know nothing. At this point, we still don’t get what going on with you and Kyle. We only know that it’s bac.

Sapphire nods her head, "Alright, fair enough of a request you want me to be clear. I must be really rambling. Here it goes.

Kyle and I did something that has the both us so messed up, I don’t know if we can fix it. I need to isolate myself from everyone for the rest of the day to sort out my options and work through my emotions. Now, I’m unfit for being of any use on the team. I know I need several hours to get myself put back together. Kyle, I believe, is in as much of an emotional mess as me."

Sapphire faces Bullet. "Our major mess began when Kyle and I had left the Columbia mission and ended up in your Buenos Aires apartment. Your place brought out of Kyle and me a moment of relating to each other like we had never done in all the years we have known each other.

The views of the Buenos Aires city are amazing from your apartment. Kyle and I enjoyed the evening with wonderful conversations; a peaceful time to ourselves; a wonderful meal together; talked honestly with each other about so many things; amazing panoramic views of the city from the hanging terraces providing the perfect setting for emotions to bubble up. How we were nicely dressed adding to the experience on how we felt for each other. We began looking at each other like teenagers interested in someone. I could tell we had feelings that make us very uncomfortably tempting stirring up inside each of us. Both of us daring to act on those feelings, not daring to act on those feelings, one thing led to another."

Sapphire take a deep breath then breaths out hard, I allowed myself to fall in love with Kyle when we had sex.
