About this ebook
Are you struggling? Are you anxious? Do you feel defeated or alone, even though you have accomplished much in your life? Are you happy with what you have, or do you constantly have to replace these things with new ones? Is there always another plateau you have to reach?
Do the things that you own and your success give you peace?
Is there anything in this world that lasts forever? What is there that we can see and touch that will not eventually lose its attraction and value, erode or fade away? What can we take out of this world when we die? What is the use of all that we know and live by? If we live long enough we realize that most of what we learn and do as children and adults are useless past this life.
In this little book, we see three things that Jesus taught His disciples, things that are related to eternity, things for now and in the next life. For all who hear and adhere to His teachings, He gives assurance of a life beyond this one, an eternal life with Him and God, the Father. We find in these things an unexpected reality of true life now and forever. Belief and values are established in what He lived and taught so that we may be living free in Christ from the anxiety of this world.
First things that last forever are simple but there is a profound knowledge in these things. If we know them and meditate upon them we realize that these are things that we live by here, the spiritual things that will eventually transition us to an eternal glory where God is all that we need.

First Things That Last Forever - Fran Rogers
INTRODUCTION
God’s timing is always perfect. There was a need for me to write this little book at this particular time in my life. As I proceed to publish books I have written in the past, there is a tendency to be stressed and bogged down in the process. When things are not happening as expected, there is the temptation to stop the work that God has given me, and to give up. Along with the reality that I don’t know what I am doing, there is the little voice, Nobody cares what you are writing; nobody is going to read it anyway.
And so here is the treatise to anyone whom God has brought to read this little book. Whatever Gods wants done, He will do; in and through His people. We are here as His people to proclaim His kingdom, as He is conforming us to the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. As He is preparing us for eternity with Him in glory, in and with His Spirit, we move on. Moment by moment, He gives the power of His will, by His grace, to complete the work that He begins in each of us.
When we face the difficulties, the perplexities, and complexities in this life, what do we do? If we are prepared ~ as we must be, as soldiers of the cross ~ we remember and respond to whatever we encounter, proceeding to the end to which God calls us.
What action do we take in response to the attack from the enemy? The mind springs to action with what we have learned from God’s Word. He teaches us, and by His Spirit commands within us the proper responses. He makes us vigilant and strong to answer the enemy by enabling us either to wait on Him to speak, or for us to take action. With His leading we move forward to destroy the strongholds, casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought captive in obedience to Christ.
Here, in this little book, we will look at three things that we must know and remember in all of this life. Without these, we shall never get through this life successfully, as God has planned it for us. Knowing these things we will stand to the end as He enables us to endure victoriously, to meet our Lord and Savior and to enjoy eternal life in His glorious kingdom forever. It is Jesus Christ who taught His disciples; who left for us these great things that we share with you, the reader.
There are many others, but if we remember and apply these to all that we think and do, we shall never lack the presence of our Almighty God and Savior, and the power of the Holy Spirit, in every circumstance of life.
Especially, we will look at two references from the Sermon on the Mount, recorded
