From Religion to Christianity: The Process Of Transformation Into The Nature Of Christ
()
About this ebook
'The Camp' comprises among other things, personal gratification, religion, culturalism and formalism that are based on human effort and principles, and not on Christ.
It is therefore imperative that we live a life that is pleasing to God, one that is according to His standards, if we are to point and introduce others to Christ. This will be achieved, not by being isolated, but rather by being insulated, guarding our hearts and thoughts from ungodly influences.
Attempts to combine the godly principles and nature with the human nature and earthly systems will only result in failure. As the Lord said, "You can't pour new wine into old wine skins."
It's time to come out of the camp.
Cleopas Chigwada
Cleopas Samuel Tichaona Chigwada is an Elder in Christ-in-me Church International, a preacher/teacher of the Gospel of Grace and Shepherd of God's People. He has been in full time ministry for the past five years. Christ-in-me Church International is currently located in Barking London, with plans to move to Southern Africa, and a vision to open branches in Canada, Australia and the USA. The Church is also at an advanced stage in setting out an outreach program for those coming out of prisons, homeless and those living rough on the streets. As an author, this is Elder Cleopas first book, titled: From Religion to Christianity. A must read for all people, believers and none believers alike, with answers to questions on the purpose of our existence here on earth, what is there after life and how to live a life of fulfillment in God. This book offers readers basic understanding of the meaning of life, the link between the Spirit, Soul and Body of the believer, and how to choose to live right by the grace of God and above temptation and sin. The bulk of the information in this book is from some of the sermons Elder Cleopas preached on. These include conference speeches, lecture notes used at Theological Colleges, and various gatherings of men, women, the youth and at Bible study groups over the years. It is his desire to see people embrace the Gospel of God's Grace and be part of the world wide Grace Revolution. He firmly believes that, it is only by God's Pure Grace that a person can be radically transformed and blessed. Preface
From Religion to Christianity is a book deliberately written in very simple language for all to understand. This is because of the great importance of the message in it, which all must understand. To further show the importance of this message, some aspects of the book are repeated a few times.
What is this important message that all must hear? Together, let us look at the introduction of this book, where this very important message appears for the first time.

Introduction
Welcome to From Religion to Christianity.
This is a book for all people. This book is based on the true living God. God does not change, but His ways of dealing with people changes with time. Reading through the Bible will show you the change in God’s dealings with people at various times in biblical history.
The picture we see as we read through the Bible is that some things that were the truth at one time are no longer the truth today. From this, we can talk about ‘Old Truth’ and ‘New Truth’. ‘Old Truth’ had an important role to play in its own time; does this mean that ‘Old Truth’ has no role to play today?
No. ‘Old Truth’ has a role to play today, as is clearly shown in this book. The Bible also clearly shows us what was never meant to be the role of the ‘Old Truth’. Are there Christians today who are still holding onto the ‘Old Truth’ and holding it — or some aspects of it — up as the pillar of their faith?
This, I am sure, does help us to explain why some Christians’ lifestyle is spiritually stunted, while others are giants spiritually.
From this we can classify Christians into three groups:
Those with a Christian lifestyle based on the old Biblical truth.
Those with a Christian lifestyle based on a mixture of the old truth and new truth.
Those with a Christian lifestyle based on new truth.
NOTE: In which group do you think you are operating as a Christian? Join me as we explore the Bible to find out what the old Biblical truth is and what the new Biblical truth is. And more importantly, what is walking in step with God? Or as Galatians 2:14 puts it, what is walking in the truth of the gospel?
CHAPTER 1
The Dispensations of God
Through him all things were made; without him, nothing was made that has been made.
— John 1:3
The Bible tells us that it was God who created all things and that He created them for Himself. In Genesis, the very first book of the Bible, we see God in the process of creation. The story of creation is found in Chapters One and Two of the book of Genesis. Man was created at the very end of the process and placed in the Garden of Eden. A closer look at the life of man on earth from the Bible’s point of view shows that, from creation up to the present time, God has been dealing with people in different ways from one era to another.
God Himself does not change, but the way He deals with people varies from time to time.
NOTE: A political, religious or social system prevailing at a particular time is called a ‘dispensation’.
So the way God administers His affairs or deals with people at a particular time is called a dispensation. A close look at the history of God’s earthly chosen people, the Jews, clearly shows the idea of a dispensation. The diagram below illustrates God’s dispensation.
