Chapter 1
Justin walked out of the bar, straight to his truck. His stride was fast as he tried to get as far from the bar as he could. Once in his truck he rammed it in drive, spinning on the gravel as he raced out of the parking lot. He couldn’t get away fast enough. The bar grew smaller in the rear view mirror helping him calm down a bit, but he was still feeling hot and bothered.
Slamming his fist into the steering wheel, he swore, What the hell is wrong with me? She’s my best friend’s sister. Holy shit, I’ve sunk to a whole new low.
He said to himself as he drove toward his house, desperately trying to forget those huge blue eyes and that body that spoke volumes.
The moment he’d walked into JD’s, the local bar and grill, he knew he was finally home. His best friend, Kent called him over to where he sat with three other people. The closer Justin got to the table, he noticed the blond to Kent’s right. She was evidently new in town because he didn’t remember her and he knew all the hot women in town. Even after being away for four years at college, when he was home, he knew the women around him.
Kent slapped him on the back, There’s my best bud. Glad you’re back with the living.
Justin grinned, his eyes never leaving the blond across the table from him. It’s good to be back old friend. So, how much trouble have you been getting into?
Oh you know, drunk and disorderly, a couple of field parties, just run of the mill stuff.
Kent tapped his beer bottle to the one Justin now had in his hand. To old times and the new times we’re going to make now.
I hear you.
Justin said as he took a long drink from the bottle, then gave her the sexy smile that made women fall over themselves to get near him.
The blond was nursing a mixed drink, watching him too. She gave him a smile that made his blood sizzle. There was something about her that he couldn’t quite put his finger one, but something was familiar.
His favorite song came on the jukebox, so he rounded the table, grasping her hand. Let’s dance. I’m in the mood to dance with a pretty lady.
She giggled as he pulled her on the dance floor. Then he pulled her against his body, grasping her hand close to his chest. They moved against one another, heating up the dance floor. His body was reacting to her close proximity and if luck was on his side, he hoped to take her home with him.
Justin was thinking how lucky he was to find a woman the day he came back in town. And to find one this beautiful and with a body that would make a strong man weak at the knees.
As she rubbed her breasts against his chest, his breathing began to get erratic. He was seriously thinking about asking her if she wanted a more private dance floor, like at his house when something familiar flickered through her eyes. The smile that turned up the corners of her ample lips brought back memories of water fights, hay rides and then his mind went into shut down mode.
That’s when he looked at her more closely, seeing the familiar blue eyes. His eyes went to his best friend’s blue eyes, then back to the woman he held against his body. He dropped his hands from her body, looking at her like she was a snake about to strike. No, it couldn’t be her, could it?
Oh hell, Kristy.
He ran his hands through his hair roughly. Am I right?
A smile crossed her cherry lips. Yes Justin, who did you think I was?
She rolled her eyes, reaching for the front of his tee-shirt, pulling him closer. By the way, I’m glad you asked me to dance. It’s been a long time and a girl can only wait so long.
He grasped her arms, holding her at arm’s length. Damn, Kristy, really?
She couldn’t be the little girl that followed him and Kent around, annoying them. Did he have this kind of bad luck?
I thought you wanted to dance.
She gave him a little pout.
His body reacted badly, making him suddenly regret his tight jeans. Maybe another time.
He turned, going back to the table where Kent was watching him.
Man, don’t be dancing with my sister like that. I know you don’t think of her that way, but hell, the guys around here will get the wrong idea.
Then Kent slapped him on the shoulder.
Kristy’s all grown up, I think she can handle herself.
Justin downed the rest of his beer and set it on the table. I just remembered I told dad I’d help with something back at the house.
He didn’t wait on Kristy to arrive back at the table. All he knew was he had to get out of there before he made a complete ass of himself. On top of that, his best friend would fry him like bacon if he even saw a hint of what Justin was feeling right now and with the growing problem south of his belt, he’d give himself away real soon.
Now he was driving out to the house he’d purchased two months ago. He needed another cold beer and possibly a really cold shower. Damn, he was glad he’d finally realized who she was. If he’d done what he wanted with her, shit, he had to get that out of his brain.
He pulled into the driveway, putting the truck in park as he sat there, trying to clear his head. He hadn’t been back a full twenty-four hours and already his dick was getting him into trouble, just as it always had.
Finally, he got out of the truck and walked into the house. The fridge was well stocked with his favorite brew. Grabbing one, he opened it, then downed half of it, hoping to get her out of his mind.
The last time he’d seen her was the summer he left for college, which was four and a half years ago. Even though he’d been home several times for holidays, he hadn’t seen her. Kent had always met him at the bar, but she wasn’t with him.
Four and a half years ago, she was only... he thought for a minute, then he remembered, she was seventeen and had braces. She’d also been really thin and he hadn’t given her a second notice. So now
