    Dr. Amaris Tyynismaa works for Xectronics, making robot parts. Her boss, Charles Bertrand, reassigns her one day, tasking her with analysing a robot. But the robot is no ordinary robot; it is one that seems to have achieved self-awareness. Amaris is shocked to discover just how developed the robot is - the robot calls itself Cassandra - and that the robot is female. Her interactions with Cassandra soon lead her down a rabbit hole of intrigue and mystery, which she struggles with each passing day to prevent herself from falling down. Until it is too late. Cassandra turns Amaris's life upside down as she convinces her of her self-awareness and amazing abilities. To the point that defending Cassandra from a fate she considers worse than death, and abhorrent, will cost her more than her job. But Cassandra wants more than friendship; she wants to be considered an equal, and works hard to experience equality with Amaris. But can Amaris give Cassandra the thing she truly wants: to be loved. And how far is she willing to go with Cassandra before it costs her dearly?
