Connections of God's Word in Prophecy Volume II - Carl Thomas

    author

    Introduction

Terrorism is the headline of the daily paper, an event that just happened or one anticipated to prevent if possible. This is the world of all peoples and nations. It is a fearsome way to exist. All humanity is horrified at our world situation and these events.

Unfortunately this is the result of man’s denial of the teaching of our Creator. He has warned us of the consequences of our choices. Furthermore, He has told us of the future and the end results of our choices. Still people and society reject God’s instructions. Yet after 6000 years under the rule of man, terrorism is the results we have.

If you think the terrorism we are experiencing now is bad, wait till God pours out His wrath on the creation which has rejected Him and His teaching. We are without excuse.

Revelation 6 tells us of the seal judgments as starters. In chapter 8 the seventh seal is opened which introduces the seven trumpet judgments. Chapter 16 of Revelation is about the bowls of the wrath of God being poured out. All of these judgments spoken of become more intense and horrific each time.

When we read of the bowl judgments and the trumpet judgments as explained in the tribulation period of God’s wrath being poured out on all creation, there is nothing to compare it with.

This work is to help enlighten any who have a hope for the future. God has not left us in the dark and there is hope for those who will listen to the Word of God with sincerity and seek His direction.

In the first dream of King Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel chapter 2, he was told The great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this, the dream is certain, and the interpretation is sure. As we study this we will see the events happened as revealed and we can know God is true. He has told us our future as well. God has given a plan for His creation and it is coming to the final days for humanity as we know it. As He winds His Plan down He has given us the key of what to expect in His record. If anyone wants to know, then take a short study of history including Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation.

Since the time of Abram (Abraham) all of history, past, present and future as it is revealed in the Bible, and as it relates to mankind in general, must be viewed through the history of God’s chosen people. Without this approach then understanding of the prophecies for the future or end times cannot be understood.

The Lord spoke to Abram and said, Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and I will curse him who curses you: And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed. Abram departed the land as the Lord had spoken to him.

God blessed Abram and Abram prospered greatly. God made several unconditional promises to Abram for him and his descendants. These descendants became God’s Oracle People and God spoke through many prophets concerning things to be.

Though God chose them to be His vehicle of revelation they were rebellious and disobedient with few exceptions. Even with this history, God kept His Word to Abram and continued to work with and through His chosen ones to reveal Himself to all mankind.

After God had given the Law to the people He chose to be His Oracle People, God considered Himself to be married to the Kingdom of Judah and the Kingdom of Israel.

As we study the Bible we see where God had to discipline this rebellious people on several different occasions and in many different manners. God got so fed up with the nation of Israel, the northern kingdom, because of their idol worship, that He gave them a bill of divorcement. They became known as the lost tribes, the 10 tribes of the kingdom or nation of Israel. God divorced them but He never deserted them, they forgot God and His ways. They became known to themselves and the world as gentile peoples. God hid His people among the gentile nations to strengthen them and built them up. It is all in His record.

On the other hand God remained married to His other wife, the kingdom or nation
