I was very close to both of my parents who were my best friends, and I have lost count of the number of happy times we shared, and all of the creativity and laughter. Like my beloved father Joe, my mother Margaret was so special, and my total inspiration. I would therefore like to dedicate this book to their memory.

    Introduction

The Galactic Council had gambled, although to some it was more like a calculated risk. However, it did not matter which opinion was taken as the facts spoke for themselves. A secret agent had been recruited, and an attempt was taken to change the whole history of the planet Earth.

Those against the idea had stated that time paradoxes were dangerous things, and yet despite their reservations the operation had taken place. Now despite the heroic efforts of the man who had unwittingly been cast in the role of saviour, conflict had arisen and history remained the same as it had always been.

The rebel reptilians were now firmly in charge for the next phase of Earth's evolution, as cosmic forces gathered. This was a time that had long been foretold, and it was to one of the Council’s founding members that guidance was sort.

At such a time a strong leadership was required, but at the very moment destiny called, there seemed to be no one there to answer…

    One

The first strands of sunlight skated across the layers of mist which covered a distant world, hundreds of light years away from the Earth. Way out there in what was known as the Seven Sister’s Constellation, sat a planet circling a distant sun referred to as Taygeta. No more than the faintest of twinkles in the night’s sky, it now held the key to the very survival of the human race.

Orbiting this very distant sun was the legendary planet Erra, capital of the Pleiadian Empire. It had long been admired and loathed in equal amounts, depending on which perspective was held. For those within the Galactic Council it was the very seat of democracy, and its wisdom and leadership was valued more than any other. It was considered the bastion of liberty and a shining example amongst the many star nations.

For those who held the opposing view, it was derided and somewhere that had attracted a lot of unwanted attention. Envious eyes looked down upon it from a little craft, so small that it had gone virtually undetected. A cloaking device rendered it invisible to the planet-wide tracking system, and it now descended through the banks of cloud.

Little drops of water vapour were the only visible sign of the stealth craft, as they collected along its surface, dropping down onto the elaborate structure below.

A guard on duty felt them splatter against his face, as he looked up into the empty sky, wondering where they had come from. Then, whilst he raised a hand to wipe them off, there was a subtle glow before all went quiet.

Initially, he thought nothing of it, as he presumed that it was just a light being switched on in the building he was guarding, before a sudden scream echoed out through a half opened window…

    Two

Faint flickers of light danced across the surface of Erra, as Taygeta crept slowly towards the horizon, peaking out from the vast frozen vapour clouds which billowed across the flat terrain, brushing up against the rock formation which held the Royal Palace.

Sitting high above, the towering spires cast a long shadow down over the crystal like formations that sparkled in the first glimmer of the new day, catching the massive carving of the Great King’s face which looked down over the kingdom.

It was more than just a monument, as it was a tribute to a lifetime’s achievement, which had brought peace and stability to not only the kingdom, but also to the Galactic Council itself. His exploits were legendary, and it was with a great deal of pride that his loyal subjects had created it in his honour.

Everyone considered him to be virtually immortal, but little did they realise that he was no longer here to protect them. His advisors had been keeping that secret, as he had mysteriously disappeared from the Royal Place a few days earlier. If ever the people were to find out, then it would not only shake their society to the very core, but also the Galactic Council too!

The Pleiadian Empire had never faced such a crisis before in its very long and distinguished history, and the Great King’s advisors had been desperately trying to keep the secret.

The situation had been further compounded by the fact that the reclusive queen was also nowhere to be seen, along with his only son and heir.

Governance had therefore fallen to the select group of people, and the Chancellor had been given overall responsibility.

The very worried man paced up and down staring out towards the Great King’s face, hoping for a miracle. He wore a deep frown, and the bags beneath his eyes were testament to his lack of sleep since the crisis had begun to unfold.

What was he going to say to the others when they
