    This play portrays a poor family struggling to make ends meet. Just when they think they can’t spiral any lower, James (the father) loses his job. In order to deal with his stress and anger, he turns to alcohol for solace; however, his dependence on his elixir drives him to a new low. Hattie (the mother) tries to hold the family together, but she harbors frustrations of her own. Seeing his family propel towards destruction, Paul (the older son) steps up and proposes a solution that may get his family on the right track.

    Will his parents forfeit their traditions and dependencies and take a chance on change, or will they hold on to what’s familiar and continue in their dysfunctional ways? The answer is revealed in the pages of "As For Me And My House, We Shall Serve The Lord."
