Tarot the Prediction of the Future

    Introduction

I had a feeling of pleasure and satisfaction as I prepared to write this book. Often, those who consult the Tarot or acquaintances inspire my titles. Those who read my texts know my technique, which is to write practical content using a method that everybody can understand. By following a particular author means that you have accepted their beliefs and the way they provide information. For example, if I liked rock music, I would definitely buy and listen to records or CDs created by composer or singers who love rock. Of these composers I would then follow what I like most about the lyrics and/or music, I appreciate their style. I hope, therefore, to be appreciated and followed because of my style. I like to explain concepts in a practical way that is helped by many figures or graphics and people value this a lot. Before this text I published the book Psychic practice for all not even a year has passed since its release and it has been quite successful even though it was never advertised. Unfortunately, and here I stoop to remove a pebble from my shoe, you should know that only a few favorites can find a publisher immediately and meet with the greats of the industry. Without wanting to belittle any colleagues, but, if by the end of the year many little books are sold about the horoscope on television at the expense of authoritative texts, well, as advertising they have notable value. Without then considering the generalization of the horoscope, and this is stated by an astrologer, because it is based on the sun sign, it is not at all valid then if we consider that astrology is viable if based on a personal chart that has been composed based on the date, time, city of birth, which all determine our fingerprint. I have removed the stone; so can continue to introduce you to the text as a clairvoyant.

We will not begin analyzing individual cards immediately; it would be like having you memorize a series of marks. And it is exactly here that I want to make a difference in the text. First we introduce the concepts that are preparatory to the second part, the one in which we will analyze the single card. Remember that this book will only deal with the Major Arcana. I had initially thought of a single text that would bring together the Major and Minor Arcana. I then thought it was more comfortable and convenient to create two books, one for the Major and the other for the Minor. In this way the single book will cost less, and knowing that not all those who are new to using the spread or practicing with the Major and Minor Arcana use them concurrently, this will allow them to buy only the text that interests them.

The Tarot cards can be read, interpreted or give their meaning through their symbolism, by way of their connection with numerology, astrology, alchemy, Kabbalah, mythology, and so on. Of these, I will take the easiest of these elements, and fit it into the explanation of the individual card, so it will easily remind the reader which element to draw upon in remembering the meaning of the card. The title of this book is clear, the purpose is to provide input for those approaching the field or for the newcomer. There cannot be a thousand details; there should be a few clear ones. Thanks to these details, there will not be problems of never being able to remember the meaning of this card because there are so many, or any doubts about the value of the card. Remember that not all authors report or give the same meanings to the cards, especially for the Minor Arcana.

I shall draw this part of the text to a close, while making it clear that my book Tarot practice for all was designed for beginners and professionals, and thus for a reader who has already read something about the Arcana, as well as for the reader who is approaching the Tarot for the first time ever.

I add that I will also provide a key to the reading of the reversed arcanum. Many colleagues interpret the cards right side up, but those who follow me know my concept, which I repeat here, if it is the first time you are reading one of my books: I am not in favor of reading all the cards right side up. Based on my way of thinking, with the correct approach to reading using this method, there are few changes in respect to reading the card upright or reversed. Also, being an astrologer and noticing in practice that Jupiter can create positive or negative aspects, or itself assume a positive value or not I cannot, therefore, but support the concept that the card has a negative value, determined by the surrounding cards when reading cards drawn upright, and negative if the direction is the reverse in a spread, where both upright and reversed have been drawn. On the other hand, just to understand the concept, in life there is good and evil, black and white, then I can not overlook the value of a card that is drawn reversed or at most the existence of a positive value, but also negative inherent in the specific value of the same.

We are now ready to move on to the next chapter, even if the reader is starting from scratch in this subject.

    The Way of the Tarot

Most readers will know which and how many cards are in the Major Arcana, but to tell the truth and since the book is also designed for those who know completely nothing about the subject matter allow me to list them quickly:

    0 The Fool

    1 The Magician

    2 The High Priestess

    3 The Empress

    4 The Emperor

    5 The Hierophant or Pope

    6 The Lovers

    7 The Chariot

    8 Justice

    9 The Hermit

    10 Wheel of fortune

    11 Strength

    12 The Hanged Man

    13 Death

    14 Temperance

    15 The Devil

    16 The Tower

    17 The Star

    18 The Moon

    19 The Sun

    20 Judgment

    21 The World

Obviously, the images and the meaning of each arcanum will be given in later chapters.

It is no coincidence that the cards start at zero and end at twenty-one, as if to indicate a path. In the next chapter we will analyze this concept to demonstrate the correlation between the Tarot cards.

Now, I must briefly explain this path so that you can begin to provide or surmise the meaning of the individual Tarot.

The esoteric path of the initiate is symbolized by the Magician of the Tarot, who discovers the value of the study and the increasing capacity of its latent potential (Priestess); he perceives the strength inherent in him to control events and instincts (Empress and Emperor) and acquires, therefore, wisdom (Pope/Hierophant) needed to make the right choice (Lovers) through which he can know the joys of triumph (Chariot).

At the end of this phase the initiate can draw conclusions about having acquired the ability to discern between right and wrong (Justice), the knowledge of him or herself, of his or her spirituality and the potential at its disposal (Hermit). They have also understood the emptiness and temporary nature of material things and its power to impose its rule on matter (Wheel of Fortune) and events (Strength). If the initiate is faced with a choice that has been imposed on him by Fate (6, Lovers, selected card) had not made the right choice he would have to tread a path - the second - more laborious and complex.

The Second Way is made up of the blades, either Ionic or Doric, negative (from No. 12 to No. 22 with the exception of No. 17 – Arcanum of the Star). In fact, these Arcana, reveal the pitfalls to the initiate that are encountered along the path of growth, and the degree of danger that can increase, the stronger the temptation is to give in to the lure of materialism, greed and arrogance. They therefore comprise a stern warning to the initiate who, having in themselves the ability to control matter and events, the strength to dominate themselves and the faculty of discernment between good and evil, between right and wrong, will have to pay great attention and make every effort to avoid permitting the baser/inept instincts to prevail over REASON. If reason prevails, the initiate will reach the final goal, the prize (the World), to higher knowledge. If, by contrast, instinct prevails, the initiate will return to the starting point that is determined by the supremacy of CHAOS (from where everything starts and returns) over ORDER.

The last Arcanum, in fact, (the Fool) reveals that the failure in the path of growth takes one back to ⇥ chaos ⇥ beginning from whence he came. Man, therefore, has also committed the error, and the way of repentance and the final rising up will never be refused.

The end of the way of failure corresponds to the beginning of a new journey.

The Fool is also the very first of the Arcana (remember what was said about the cyclical nature), and therefore represents the beginning of the initiatory path. We'll cover this better in the next chapter.

    The reliability of the Tarot

Why approach the Tarot? And how is it that we find a type of calling to this area?

I'll try to answer this for you, in a subjective and personal way, and based on the personal experience of those who have confided in me.

Often, a person becomes curious about the area when going through a difficult time in their life, or when they ask themselves why? many times. There are people who would like to discover their innermost self and people who want to know how a certain personal situation will evolve.

All the reasons cited above arise from a spiritual growth perceived by us. We no longer face situations in our lives superficially. Here we are talking about people who respond to this input by using the Tarot cards and not those who choose other legitimate solutions such as a spiritual retreat or becoming a volunteer, to name two.

I must explain why divination works for the people who choose the Tarot as a means of growth. This aspect is not insignificant considering that many avoid this area regardless, because it has been denigrated by the media, people and celebrities.

The first consideration is that the Tarot cards indicate a path, just as in what you plan to do.

Not surprisingly, the number of Tarot starts from zero to end with the last arcanum of the World, twenty-one, which completes the entire path and will bring us back to zero. In fact, zero, must be understood as a principle and order, where everything begins, ends and returns. Now you have seen the list of arcana vertically, and you have the concept of a journey, an idea encouraged also by the order of the numbers. But to understand the argument just explained about zero (the Fool), being understood as the beginning and end, just change the arrangement of the cards, as shown in the following figure.
