    I want to thank those whose stories of Angelic experiences helped encourage me to write about Angels. Although I have had a limited amount of personal experience, in chapter 8, you will read where there were a couple of times in my life when I am fairly certain, Angels were watching over me.

    I am especially grateful to my personal Angel for the past 52 years, my wife Sharon! How do I know she is an angel? She is always up in the air harping about something!

    Just kidding baby!

    Dedication

    I want to dedicate this book to Maranda Marie Howells whom we have known her entire life. In fact, I held her in my lap when she was nine months old, and she proceeded to wet all over me!

    Maranda has traveled with us for the past 15 years as an integral part of our team and ministry. She arranges all the dances we do in the schools and marshals the troops when we have new recruits who have helped us over the years.

    At times she has astounded me, worried me and aggravated me when I felt like she should be a little more careful as she wandered around Atlanta alone in her Mustang convertible on our off times.

    Her standard answer to my fears is;

    Why would you be worried about me? I’ve always got my guardian Angel, Bubba, watching over me!

    According to her, Bubba, always gives her a feeling of security.

    Well Maranda, please bring Bubba with you to Ireland for another tour, we may well need his protective hand as we minister in the schools.

    Introduction

    As an introduction to this study, we need to fully understand this crystal clear truth, in every passage where we find Angels mentioned in the Bible, the reference to Angels is incidental to some other issue. They are never the primary subject of the passage presented, but the love and grace of God most certainly is.

    When Angels are mentioned, it is always in order to inform us further about God, what He does and how He does it. This fact should teach us that Angels are never the focus, and they should certainly not be the object of our worship!

    It has always been my opinion that The Holy Ghost, or Holy Spirit, which is the spiritual guide which Jesus taught His Disciples about in the 14th chapter of the book of John, not Angels, should be the main focus of our attention, simply because the ïndwelling Holy Spirit which is mentioned 263 times in the New Testament and Angels are only present on an assignment and are mentioned 165 times. The entrance of the Holy Spirit into the New Testament Church is the realization of all our spiritual expectations.

    In spite of the fact that the subject of the Holy Spirit is a popular sermon topic, you will rarely hear a message on Angels by anyone in the church world, and yet that does not change the fact that Angels are mentioned a total of 273 times in the pages of the Bible!

    There are two places in the book of Revelation, where John was so awed by the revelation he had received from God through an Angel, which must have been such a very glorious creature, that he bowed down to worship the Angel.

    "And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

    (Revelation 19:10;KJV).

    Then again in Revelation 22 we are told:

    And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. (Revelation 22:8 9;KJV).

    Throughout the Bible the Angels have always been seen as grown, fully developed, males, but you may ask; are there any Scriptures which portray Angels as females?

    I have been asked this question so many times I have decided to address it at the very outset of this book! Both the Hebrew and Greek words for Angel literally mean messenger and always appear in the masculine gender. There is no Scripture that specifically portrays Angels as females. There are some who believe the two women with wings like a stork in Zechariah 5:9, are Angels, but they are not identified as such. And since storks are unclean birds, most scholars and theologians profess a serious doubt they could be Angels.

    They were part of a series of night visions Zechariah had, so they were most likely symbolic. If so, they were like Daniel’s visions of a lion with an eagle’s wings (Daniel 7:4) and a leopard with four wings (Daniel 7:6) and not meant to be descriptive of any actual being.

    Chapter One

    Angels:

    Fact Or Fiction?

    While many today see Angels as mystical, mythical creatures, belonging only in fables, the Bible makes it absolutely clear that they actually do exist!

    In my research, I discovered that an amazing number of books with the word Angel in the title were published between 1890 and 1925 and in the past few years, we have seen a resurgence of this phenomenon.

    Although there is a wide variety of their images which appear on postcards, birth announcements, Christmas cards, greeting cards, decorations, ornaments and dolls, I doubt seriously if any of what I have seen would remotely resemble an actual Angel!

    I took the liberty of surfing the Internet for over an hour in an attempt to come up with an image that I would consider suitable as an accurate depiction of an Angel. All I was able to find in almost five thousand images were 99 % beautiful young women or tiny cherubic babies, which do not even remotely resemble the Biblical concept of Angels.

    Why now? Why at this time in our history? It seems that it is harder these days when traditional religious forms simply do not appear to hold people in the way they did at one time. Some say our need to believe in Angels is our recognition of the need to look at the world in a more spiritual way.

    The world is experiencing an increasing appreciation of the spiritual, as well as an increasing capacity for people to be led by the spirit. There is so much work that needs to be done, and we really need spiritual help in getting it done. Some would say it is a part of the evolution of our collective soul, leaving us to look inside ourselves as we endeavor to seek God.

    We seem to be at the threshold of a new spiritual awakening, as far more people are being born into the Kingdom of God, but at the same time, religions all over the world are seeing an influx of people coming into their various folds.

    The belief that Angels are real seems to be more prevalent today than ever before. Perhaps we are more receptive to the appearance of Angels as we become more aware of our need for a deeper spiritual life.

    Unfortunately, we are also inundated with the hyper-spiritual religious kooks who seem to see Angels under every rock and in every situation, creating an appalling distrust among the pseudo religious portion of our society. There is no reason to doubt that it is the next step in the consciousness of human beings to be in tune with the gifts of God and the Spirit of God, knowing that He is there with all His Heavenly hosts to guide us, help us, heal us, and protect us when we need them.

    What we are asking for can be considered blessed reassurance!

    In this first chapter let me address the fact that there are no Scriptures in the Bible which would lend credence to the idea that Angels are on an equal level with the Holy Spirit! The Gospel Of John clearly defines the benefits of the indwelling power of the Holy Ghost in just a single passage of Scripture;

    "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the
