James has been writing since the age of fifteen, and has seen many ups and downs that attribute to his poetry. His previously published book, 'Metaphorically Esoteric,' is a bit more light-hearted in nature.

James was born in Colorado on September 5th,1982, and at the age of one his parents brought him to Louisiana where his Father, James Dennis Casey III, was born in New Orleans. Growing up in the rich culture of Louisiana he gathered a diverse set of traits and heritage from his southern family culture. Currently Mr. Casey resides in Mississippi, and mainly spends his time on his poetry, but also enjoys creating artwork, cooking Cajun food and spending time with family.

      Preface

      I am a poet, artist, madman philosopher, cat lover, hat lover, feather spinner, owl enthusiast, crystal collector and weirdo.

      These poems were taken from a darker time in my life, hence the aforementioned title. I was depressed and upset about the state of the world as well as my personal situation. I've been writing since the age of fifteen, and have seen many ups and downs in my 34 years. I've been through so much and seen so many struggles I feel as if I'm centuries old. These poems are just a small glimpse into my ever expanding mind. I hope you enjoy.
