A short Bedtime story about friendship.
Swerlie-Wherlie, a young piglet, is woken up at the crack of dawn by Cockie the Cockerel.
Not happy about this, he falls out with Cockie and decides to get away from the farm for a bit of peace and quiet.
An unexpected meeting with a grass snake leads to an unusual friendship, which is made when they both find themselves in big trouble.
They both rise to the occasion and find that a friend in need is a real friend indeed.

Swerlie-Wherlie’s New Friend
Cockie the cockerel began his morning song right on time. The Sun had just begun to creep up over the tall trees at the far end of Farmer Blox’s cornfield.
After a full year of practising his morning chorus, he was ready to give it his best.
Cock-a-doodle–Dooo! Cock-a-doodle-Dooo!
Cock-a-doodle-Dooo! Cock-a-doodle-Dooo!
‘Not now please, not now.‘
A small voice whispered tiredly from under a pile of straw, which lay piled up in one corner of the sty-pen.
Swerlie-Wherlie covered his large ears with his little front trotters. It was no use.
Cockie was not to be stopped from giving his morning glory. This was his big chance. Maybe, just maybe, the Poultry Choir Master of the Fowl Club was
