    Chapter 1

    He always jogged around the park on Saturdays and would always notice her sitting there doing one of three things: reading the paper (though he thought she probably did that to hide her face or just block off the sun without being obvious), scowling at the world or fidgeting anxiously as if waiting for something.

    Her face was always arranged in a careful scowl and a very cute pout always tinted her features, it was a very intriguing sight.

    Even when he was having the worst of days he knew jogging would lift his spirits because he would always slow to a walk and look at her which was at most creepy but looking at her just never failed to make him smile, he wondered why she came here. Was it to get away from her troubles? Did she have troubles at all? He figured she  might, she looked like she did in some weird way. Maybe she just liked being roasted by the sun in summer and crippled by the cold winter or it could have been that she just loved nature or thinking. She definitely loved thinking, he thought.

    Today she wasn’t there, for the first time in a whole year she was not at the park, it was Saturday did she forget?

    He sat down at her usual spot and waited growing anxious by the minutes that ticked by slowly.

    The sun was setting now and she still hadn’t arrived, he had to go home now, he walked slowly hoping that maybe he’d run into her. Why hadn’t he thought of
