They’re all gonna laugh at you.

    CHAPTER ONE

It isn’t a dark and stormy night; it is a hot, still, and sensuous one. Moonlight dances on the hood of the canary yellow 1989 IROC Z convertible as it meanders up Fowler’s Hill and stops near the summit. The top of Fowler’s Hill offers a panoramic view of Pleasant Valley. The lights of the town below flicker like coals in a fire. Moist sounds emanate from the automobile, interrupted only by the occasional giggle. The roof of the convertible stutters back.

Oh Ricky, I’m sure you bring all the girls up here.

    Only the special ones, Wanda.

Wanda stares up at the full moon and exhales contentedly. It sure is a beautiful night.

It’s a pity about the rain.

    The rain?

Ricky leers at his companion. He licks the tip of his forefinger and places it on the strap of Wanda’s tank top. Yes, we really should get you out of these wet clothes.

Wanda giggles, lifting the tank top partway before hesitating. Ricky, was this your plan all along?

    Uh, maybe?

Well! Wanda shoves her top down defiantly. My momma told me that man’s plan is not always God’s plan!

Hey, hey, hey! How do you know this isn’t part of God’s plan?

You told me you don’t believe in God.

I’m finding it difficult at the moment, Ricky mutters beneath his breath.

    Excuse me?

Listen Wanda, do you think it’s a coincidence that a few days after I dump Riley we start talking? Don’t you think God had a hand in that?

    "I heard she dumped you."

Look, that’s not the point! This is God’s plan! I know it is!

Wanda searches Ricky’s face for sincerity. She yearns for his touch even as a chorus line of fallen women dances through her mind: Eve, Jezebel, Farrah from Teen Mom…The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Wanda sighs and slowly removes the tank top, revealing bountiful breasts barely restrained within a white cotton bra.

Ricky’s hands encircle their prize as his hot hungry mouth meets hers. His heart is jackhammering in his chest. He thought he’d never get over the indignity of being dumped by Riley, but this date with Wanda is a panacea for his wounded pride.

Oh Ricky… Wanda sighs as Ricky slurps from earlobe
