About this ebook

The lighter side of my poetry. Some may make you smile or reach for a tissue. Some may do both. Nothing scary here though. BOO! Just kidding.

Allison Rainne

Life long writer of short stories and poetry from as far back as her grade school years. Was forced to retire from a 25 year career as a Paramedic due to a debilitating systemic disorder that also involves her brain, that remains to be a mystery to her team of doctors. A White Horse Poem Book - Allison Rainne

    A Midnight’s Minute

    ––––––––

Midnight blue and deep purple sky

    Stars dance on high

    Soft breezes blow

    Firefly glow

    ––––––––

In distant night call of an owl

    Nocturnal prowl

    Scavenge for food

    Care for their brood

    ––––––––

Nature prepares for a new day

    Each long night’s play

    Last act is done

    Angel

    ––––––––

Angel picks up her paint brush

a picture without words floods the canvas

violets and blues dance as if fairies in the woods

greens and yellows grow and flourish

    she smiles as she paints

her heart is filled as is the canvas

with pride, she sets her new piece to dry in a sunbeam

as she walks away, her wings rustle in the breeze

As I Lay Me Down I Weep

    ––––––––

As I lay me down I weep

    Sweet memories invade my sleep

Of you and I and days gone by

When tears of joy I’d often cry

    ––––––––

I close my eyes to see your face

You smile at me my heart does race

    For a moment pain subsides

My heart repair you do provide

    ––––––––

If only I could touch you now

Run my finger ‘cross your brow

Tell you you’re whom I adore

    I’ve never loved another more

    At the Water's Edge

    ––––––––

    Placid pools in moonlight shine

    No movement to be seen

    Quiet almost palpable

    Cool and so serene

    ––––––––

    Rain begins sending waves

    Slowly across the surface

    Droplets fall and ripple out

As if the sky were weeping

    ––––––––

    Thunder crash and lightning strike

    Water falls to earth
