    About the Author

    Mohamad Rajab Darhaman, who was born in 1967, is an engineer who works in the Department of Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia.

    He was born in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. He attended St Andrew’s Primary School, St. Joseph’s Secondary School and SDAR before enrolling in the University of Sheffield, UK. He graduated with BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering in 1990.

    Upon graduation he worked in a number of companies as an engineer. He took up writing as part time. He had written a number of books including a few novels. His quest is to continue writing books, as it is his passion to read and write.

    He lives with his wife, a son and a daughter in their country home in Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, Malaysia. He spends most of his time with his family. Currently, he is busy upbringing his son who is six years old and his new born daughter. He believes to build a happy family is based on the quality time spent on them.

    His hobbies are reading, writing, listening to music, playing badminton and most of the things that give pleasure in life.

    Introduction

    Managing your tasks in relation to your mission and vision in life is essential if you want to realise your dreams. Your dreams might be hazy at first but if you start to manage your tasks everything will fall into place. You will be able to see the whole picture of your vision in life when you implement the ideas put forward in this book.

    In Part I of this book, a discussion of ideas and tips for you to plan your tasks are given. You can start planning your short-term goals and thus your tasks after you have gone through Part I of this book. Once you’ve done your planning you can set-out to go after your goals. What you want to achieve will become more apparent with careful planning. By planning the path you want to take towards your destination will be laid out.

    In Part II of this book, practical steps will be shown for you to go after your dreams. With examples given you will be able to see the steps needed to be taken to use the tool mentioned in this book, the Task Manager Table. This tool is a technique to capture all the information needed to achieve goals. It is a practical tool to use in your quest for goals. This book gives the ideas to manage your tasks by using a tool, the Task Manager Table. In Part II of this book, examples of short-term goals in relation to goals in the essential seven areas of life will be given in detail. You will be able to see the benefits of using the Task Manager Table to plan and manage your tasks in your quests for goals.

    The elements captured in the Task Manager Table are essential ingredients to achieve your goals. These essential ingredients we usually think of and do in our quest for goals but we seldom put them in black and white. Most of us thought of these essential ingredients when we go for our goals in the implementation stage. By capturing these essential ingredients in the Task Manager Table our goals become clearer and our purpose in life become more apparent. The Task Manager Table provides a framework for you to plan and manage tasks. The table can also be used as records for achievements in the past.

    You need records of achievements in the past for planning your future endeavours. Once you have a database of past achievements you can use it as a launching pad for propelling you to attempt at more challenging goals. This database provides you with snapshots of past achievements for you
