      Lying face down was a man covered in blood. David, oh David, said Violetta bending over the body, but she knew that David was dead. Someone had tortured and killed him.....

      Violetta Tyler paced the floor of her chambers as she studied the brief of the most crucial of cases which was to come up for hearing the following day. What made this case critical was that Termido Bulldog, headed by notorious drug kingpins Randy Munez and Tony Maron, in Indiana was now cornered with its carrier Jim Curtis behind bars in Jackson County Jail. Violetta knew that Randy and Tony would go to any length to sweep this case under the carpet as they had done on previous occasions where they bought off certain people in the right places who were willing to help them.

      Mike Hudson her coworker put his head around the door. Getting ready for the case of the year? he asked grinning. Violetta smiled back. Oh yes I am prepared to take the bull by its horns now, said Violetta. Well good luck to you, but Violetta if I were you I would just give the case over to a junior and let him or her handle it. It is really not worth all your effort, said Mike as he closed the door quietly.

      Violetta stared at the closed door and thought for a while. "Why is Mark so much against me handling this case?" she asked herself.

      Violetta arrived at the Supreme Court of Indiana with Lucy Hartsfield and Jerome Donavan two junior state attorneys. Randy Munez and Tony Moran were already seated in court surrounded by their team of lawyers when Violetta walked into the Court. All the other attorneys who were representing different other clients smiled with Violetta and some even patted her on the back.

      Violetta watched as Randy whispered something to Tony, who turned and looked at her. The Bench consisted of three eminent and respected judges Justices, Simon Hadley, Warren Martel and David Whitefield. They walked into the Court regally clad as all those present stood up.

      There was a pin drop silence when Jim Curtis was brought into the courtroom under heavy guard. Jim hardly looked at Randy and Tony.

      Justice Simon Hadley rapped sharply with the mallet and all whispering stopped at once.

      Jim Curtis was charged with having in his possession 500 kilograms of cocaine stashed in the floor board of his van. Jim had been driving from the airport when on a tip off he was apprehended and was not facing trial in the Indiana Supreme Court. Jim knew that the laws on drug dealings were tough and if convicted, he would have to spend the rest of his life in jail.

      Miss Violetta Tyler you may start your sessions, said Justice Hadley. Violetta bowed low. Thank you, Your Honor, she said as
