A Decade of Dating - Heather Steines
A Momma’s Heart
This narrow book is a compilation of my personal thoughts on dating. It is written as if it were to be spoken. Sentences and thoughts run together, much like the blessed ebb and flow of dating. It is written to my daughters, yes, but has implications for you, daughters, too. My hope is that these small snapshots of lessons learned become an arsenal. Something that you keep tucked in the corner of your heart. For, there is much to be learned in dating, daughters. Your story will be different. This is my story. And, if I have learned anything, stories are worth telling.
Our Story
Your dad and I, well, we met in the last year of the last century. That sounds dramatic. We met in 1999. He was the quarterback and I was so not a cheerleader. That fall, between passing periods, he asked me if I would go out
with him. A decade later, he became my husband.
That is the snippet of our story. Our story, though not likely an overly exciting tale, is one of steadfastness. It speaks love volumes of how God can weave together two people’s stories in the most refining, beautiful of ways.
Foundation
From the beginning, you want what is best. Much like trying to clearly pen lessons learned years ago, you want him evidenced in the very best light. You want to see him succeed. It is the realization that what makes him better makes you better. This simple, foundational truth has proved itself over and over and over again. And to be honest, has yet to stop.
We’ll Go Ahead
