About this ebook

Kobbi Aackers was excited to have a traditional family Christmas with his younger sister Franzi, a famous rock star. But instead of the peaceful holiday he had planned, she’s turning it into a televised musical extravaganza, in a desperate bid for publicity.

Kobbi can adapt, especially since the show’s host Wytt Kanard is easy on the eyes and easy to work with, even if he doesn’t believe in Christmas at all. Wytt is alternatively amused and horrified at the simplicity that is Kobbi’s life and the enthusiasm he has for the holiday, all while taking care of his houseful of unexpected guests.

Maybe Kobbi can convince the cynical Wytt that Christmas isn’t an event to be managed, but something special to be shared. Maybe he can muster the courage to confess his attraction and offer Wytt a surprise present.

A story from the Dreamspinner Press 2016 Advent Calendar "Bah Humbug."

Christmas is about family, among other things, and while Kobbi and his half sister Franzi did not grow up together, he still wants to have a traditional holiday with her for once. But Franzi is a rock star and a bit of a wild child, and instead of coming to see him on her own, she brings an entourage of three people who are planning to make the event into a televised extravaganza. Franzi needs some positive PR, and even though she never told Kobbi, afraid he might say no, Kobbi decides to go with the flow to help her.

Kobbi is an interesting guy, or, I guess, you could call him eccentric. He likes his quiet, simple life shared with an older cat, but he is no stranger to the way the world works. He reads a lot, works as an accountant some of the time, and enjoys making a home and having guests. The meals he cooks and cakes he bakes alone made me like him. Kobbi likes Wytt the moment he appears at his door, but thinks the man is out of his league, no matter the matchmaking activities Franzi engages in.
Wytt manages situations, people, and anything else he can get his hands on. He is not a friend of Christmas, and immediately suspicious of someone like Kobbi - someone who has no agenda and enjoys being nice just because it’s the right thing to do. I loved watching him slowly succumb to Kobbi’s charms!

If you like quiet Christmas celebrations in remote locations, if you believe some family healing is always in order over the holiday, and if you’re looking for a read full of charm, warmth, and a touch of romance, then you might like this short story.
