    Alexandra grew up having fake sword fights with the boys, regardless of the fact that her guardian, Henry, disapproved. She considered the boys her brothers – until she got feelings for Derek. She knew there was something Henry wasn’t telling her though. He would drop hints about her family and home, but was always cryptic. When Derek walked her home early one morning, she expected a lecture from her strict father-figure about staying out all night. They weren’t expecting to find him on the brink of death, along with a few other dead bodies of, what appeared to be, gang members, and apparently they were after her. He had left her with only a riddle and a strange pendant which was meant to lead her home.
    She knew she was endangering anyone she was close to by staying near them, so decided to continue on her own. She had no idea that she would end up, not only home, but to a world where the name “Alexandra Cavanaugh” meant so much more than she ever realised, including a death-sentence.
