    An estimated 43 million pre-school children (aged below 5) were obese or overweight in 2013, a 60 % increase since 1990. If the current trends continue, the total number of overweight or obese children might increase to 70 million by 2025. Health conditions such as type 2 diabetes that were once illnesses of a much older population are now afflicting our overweight youth with alarming regularity.
