About this ebook

Every writer knows what it's like to be plagued by a bad case of writer's block. But what happens when writer's block shows up in person and starts terrorizing a best-selling author?

Zachary Gold, struggling to write his second novel after becoming an instant success with his first, is suddenly confronted by a mysterious man claiming that Zach plagiarized his writing. In his efforts to escape the crazed imposter, Zach flees into a nearby library and hides out amidst the children's bookshelves in the basement. Surrounded by fairy tales and fearing for his safety, the author attempts to put words on paper while grappling with the question of whether he should write a sequel to his smash hit or start anew with an original story.

A DEATH SENTENCE STORY: original shorts about deadly books from the world's best crime writers.

This was an ok short story. I listened to it via audible for free on their mystery channel. It wasn't spectacular but it did pass a little over an hour of with a bit of fun and nostalgia of R. L. Stine.

Zachary is the author of a huge bestseller, which has created a lot of pressure to produce a second bestseller. That pressure has left him staring at a blank screen, unable to come up with an idea, while also pushing back on his agent's insistence that he write a sequel and get a huge paycheck. But this problem takes a backseat when a scary guy begins stalking Zachary, claiming he is the true author of Zachary's book.Good twist at the end.

I enjoyed this story! It's a quick little tale that will grip you right from the start and leave you questioning and wanting more at the end. I did expect it to be a story designed for children, being Stine, but I would not recommend it for a child without parental approval. It contains a little content that might not be suitable for the typical Stine children's audience. Thanks, NetGalley for providing this review copy. This was the first Bibliomystery that I have read. It has intrigued me and I am looking forward to seeking out other titles.
