    When short-tempered chef Ethan has an argument with his husband just before Christmas, how better to make it up than with a little Christmas spiciness?

    Ethan is far from filled with Christmas cheer in the manic run up to Christmas. To add insult to injury, he’s laid low with a cold on the day he intended to do his Christmas shopping.

    An allergic reaction to cold medication which he inadvertently takes sends his already frayed temper out of control, and he takes his fury out on his husband Lachlan.

    The next day, racked with remorse and a large dose of guilt, Ethan faces Lachlan. When his husband is as loving and forgiving as always, Ethan determines to make things up to Lachlan. And how better than with a little Christmas spiciness?

      Chapter One

      With a deep groan, Ethan stretched out his spine, listening to the way each and every vertebra popped. It’s been a fucking long day. Merry Christmas. Ho, ho, fucking ho. He shouldn’t be surprised. Ethan had worked as a chef long enough to know that the run up to Christmas wasn’t called the Silly Season for nothing. He stroked his chin, already stubbled despite his shaving earlier that day.

      Drunks, frayed tempers, office secrets exposed, sobbing women, and men ready to punch one another’s light out. Although, on occasion, the men sobbed and the women were ready to fight. Oh, yes. He’d seen it all. No wonder when it came to Christmas he was well and truly jaded.

      After a good shake, Ethan shuffled over to the wall calendar. Just a couple of weeks to Christmas, then a well-deserved break. He’d busted his ass through the last three Christmases. This year he finished on the twenty-third and wouldn’t be back at work until the twenty-ninth.

      Ethan rubbed his face, the stubble rasping over his hands. He’d waited a long time for this holiday. Removing his chef’s hat, Ethan scratched his skull. He kept his hair cut purposely short through the summer.

      Hey, hey! How’s it going in here? Ready to make a move, hon? A bright and perky voice, matched to a cheerful and bouncy man, caused Ethan to look around.

      Still in full waiter’s uniform, Lachlan somehow managed to remain looking cool and immaculate. Even his hair remained tidy and intact in its man-bun. But Ethan knew
