Anna Lee - Kathryn Spurgeon
Prologue
Anna Lee lives
in a shell in the sea
graced by the beauty
of blue fantasy.
She loves the peace
of the rhythmic waves.
Her beauty lies
in the capture of grace.
Chapter 1
Read these, my living
private thoughts, although
only a small portion
of me will they show.
Read these, understanding,
and you will see of me -
longings, dreams and passion,
images set free.
Read these, my poetry,
the wisdom of my thoughts,
but read no word without too,
dreaming as you ought.
This is my story,
my promise untold.
Bring me a message
and watch it unfold.
My life is empty
whenever I find
ruins of happiness
lost in my mind.
See, in me, a beholder,
a feeling unexplained,
wrapped in beauty waiting,
a portrait in a frame.
Cry with the helpless,
favor the meek,
I am the lonely heart you seek.
Follow me somewhere
over the breeze
sharing a lifetime full of dreams.
Go very gently,
come take my hand.
Feel with the rainbow
gracing the land.
Fly up to heaven
along with the dove;
listen so softly to rhythms of love.
Travel the sea
far into the wind.
Watch for the island
where angels go in.
Soar with the clouds,
oh, go with me there.
Follow me spirit
to heaven somewhere.
My emotions are lost
in a deep dark mist.
My tears are shed for sorrow.
I want to be needed,
to be cared for and loved.
but I’m just a lost soul
in an overlarge world
with no purpose
and no place to go.
