Valkyrie Vampire Sword Dancing - Cornelia Amiri

    Introduction

Dancing Vampires with talons drawn face the Valkyrie with swords unsheathed… Mordak’s love has become a battlefield.

Tor never expected to run into three voluptuous redheads, much less three gorgeous blondes, who literally drop from the sky. It’s the redhead, Mordak, who catches his eye. The moment Mordak spots Tor, she wants more from him than his blood. She burns for his touch, but before she can enchant Tor, three Valkyrie land in front of him. Mordak is not about to let the Norse blondes fly off with her man.

When Mordak fights the Valkyrie and saves his life, Tor knows she’s the woman for him. But Mordak lives in the fey realm where he can’t go and she promised her sisters she’d never fall in love with a human. Can Tor escape the Valkyrie who want to slay him and win Mordak’s love even though he’s only human?

    One

Sisters, I’ll meet you in the other realm. Mordak jumped into the well. Mist swirled around her, a familiar tingling coursed through her body—and instantly—she stood on an ancient cairn on Earth.

She placed her feet carefully on the rocks, so many different shapes and sizes lodged together thousands of years ago. She stepped onto the grassy field scattered with stones here and there along with white cloudberry blossoms and clumps of thistles and heather. She sniffed the fresh, herbaceous fragrance on the breeze as she headed toward a thin dirt path. Mordak turned her head back toward the cairn as her two sisters appeared.

Aithbhreac, the tallest and thinnest, with the same long red hair and dark green eyes they all had, leaped off the sacred pile of rocks. Men, dancing, human blood…I can’t wait.

She walked past a clump of purple thistles toward the trail where Mordak stood.

Fuamnach, the more voluptuous of them and a bit shorter than Mordak, climbed off the cairn and smoothed the folds of her long emerald dress. Remember, no MacDuff men.

She walked to the dirt path.

Right. We promised our sisters, who married MacDuffs, that we’d keep the peace. Fuamnach snorted as she followed Mordak down the well-worn trail to the road.

But all the other men are ours. Mordak stepped from the dirt path onto the winding highland road. Let’s head toward the pub, lots of handsome lads come from there at night.

With the skirt of her flowing green gown rustling against her legs, she pranced toward the pub. Her sisters caught up with her and strolled by her side, swaying their hips seductively.

Do you think we’ll find any men on the road? So many ride in trucks and cars now. Aithbhreac pinched the bridge of her nose and blinked. Noisy, filthy things, spewing fumes into the fresh air the gods gave these humans.

Man hunting isn’t as easy as it used to be. As Fuamnach tilted her head, her long red tresses rippled down that side of her body from breast to her hip.

We’ll get men, we always do. Mordak folded her arms across her chest as she walked. They had to catch them before the sun rose, or they’d burn to ash.

The gods have answered our prayers. Aithbhreac came to a stop. Look who’s coming our way. She flashed a bright smile.

Fuamnach came to a standstill as well. My, my…what a tall, robust…man.

She ran her tongue over her red lips.

Mordak peered in the direction of her sisters’ gazes. Her breath stopped. Muscles rippled under his black t-shirt as he strode toward them with a masculine swagger. Tawny hair framed his face from his firm, dimpled chin to his full lips. As she caught his gaze, she was immersed, swimming in the energetic, bright blue of his eyes.

She swung her arms out to hold back Fuamnach and Aithbhreac. Mine.

    I saw him first,Aithbhreac scoffed.

Get your own. Fuamnach glared at her.

No. Along with Mordak’s threatening tone, her nails extended to sharp talons. She held her palms up and curled her fingers as if she’d claw their eyes out.

If you want him that bad. Aithbhreac jerked her head and her thick, red hair tumbled down her back.

Find men of your own. A hot, churning rage rose inside Mordak.

Aithbhreac stomped her foot on the paved road. We swore none of us would fall in love with a human.

That’s true. Fuamnach’s eyes went hard and cold as she stared at Mordak.

What? Mordak asked. Me? Love a human? Of course not. By the goddess, you’ve lost your minds. I just want this one for myself. Run along, get your own. We’ll meet at the portal before dawn.

See you back at the cairn. Fuamnach tilted her chin in the air and vanished.

    Aithbhreac disappeared as well.

Mordak shifted her eyes back to the mortal. His mere presence commanded attention. What would be wrong with having a tryst with him? Goddess Morrigan had affairs with humans all the time.

I thought they’d never leave. She fixed her gaze on the tall, striking man, and swinging her hips in a saucy fashion, she sauntered toward him. As she drew near him, she batted her eyelashes and flashed a smile to draw him in. Dancing with him would be even more fun than usual.

A noisy, whoosh-like, shaking sound caught her attention. What now? She gasped with shock. This cannot be.

Three women descended from the ebony sky with the wings on their bronze helmets flapping like a bird’s.

What is happening? She hadn’t drunk any heather ale today.

The vanilla-blond women landed smoothly on their feet, the wings stopped flapping and laid back on their helmets, now totally still. All three women glared at her with glacier blue eyes.

Her palms were damp with sweat, she felt shaky. The earthly realm was such a crazy place. Why did
