About this ebook
Did you notice the hands on the Cover of this eBook devotional? Can you see a father walking with a child? That’s exactly what God wants you this year, to bring you to a place where you are walking closely with Him. The theme for the month of January is “Walking closely with God”. Many believers still make the mistake of thinking that daily victory and all-round success and prosperity is like a “spiritual lottery”, where you can win at a distance. That is a lie we must never believe. The “temperature” of your relationship with God will determine everything about your life.
A healthy devotional life will change your life-forever! A daily revelation of the word of grace brought to us in Christ will put Jesus daily in your sight and set you up for daily victory. Your interest in this devotional, amongst others, is evidence of at least two facts
1.You want to start the new year on the right path for daily victory
2.God has put a desire in your heart to draw closer to Him this year.
You do not have to end 2017 at the same level or with the same challenges you ended 2016 with. A beautiful life with daily victory is not an accident, neither is it a bed of roses for us to lie on. You make it happen. You learn how to unleash the supernatural to work in your life by intimacy with God.
In Glory & Grace Daily for January 2017, Dr. Patrick Oben provides prayerfully written, brief daily devotionals to
¥Draw you closer to God one day at a time so your life becomes like a tree planted by a river, ever green and always fruitful.
¥Show you how to bring God into your daily world and obtain spiritual victory after spiritual victory, day after day.

Glory & Grace Daily Devotional - Patrick Oben
January 1
In the beginning God …
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
(Gen. 1:1 KJV).
The secret of living a life on earth full of all-round victory, prosperity, joy, and peace is God. He was there at the beginning of it all to create the heavens and the earth.
Many believers do not realize that it is possible to be born again and be heading to heaven, yet not have God involved in the daily running of their lives. Accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord guarantees heaven for you. But whether you, as an individual, will be a success or failure here on earth is determined by how much God is involved in your daily life. If you start your year with God, you will set your life on an upward course for abundant living in your spiritual life, finances, health, career, relationships, and all things. God is the beginning of anything that will prove to be good and perfect in your life this year.
MEDITATE
Would heaven and earth have existed without God from the scripture above? What beginnings
are in your life today?
PRAY
Ask the Father to enable you to completely surrender to Him this year so that your life will glow with His light.
ACT ON THE WORD!
The Word comes alive when we act on it in faith. You begin 2017 today, so ask yourself: Is God is in this beginning with me? How can you let God begin something good in your health, finances, and relationships this year? God only takes what you hand over to Him, so give Him first place in all you do this year and January 1, 2017 will meet you with bliss!

In the beginning was the Word..
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God
(Jn. 1:1 KJV).
The Word of God was there at the beginning when the heavens and the earth were made. In fact, all that we see around us, and all that is not seen around us, came into existence because God spoke it into being. His Word is creative, and brings things into existence.
At the beginning of the beautiful heaven and earth we see today was the Word of God. If you want to see the beauty of God show in every aspect of your life, it must begin with the Word. When God’s Word comes in, beauty will follow. God’s commandment for you this year is My son, give attention to my words
(Prov. 4:20 NAS). If you begin with God’s Word, victory is guaranteed.
MEDITATE
What was God doing when He created the earth? See Genesis 1:3. Ponder and then mutter the words of the scripture above. Then declare that I am starting the year with the Word of God.
PRAY
Thank the Father for the gift of His Word to us. Ask the Spirit to open your eyes to your need for God’s Word.
ACT ON THE WORD!
You plant your life on God’s Word by constantly feeding on it and doing what it says. Many will not take time to study and meditate on the Word; others will hear it
