Wow, this one was so yummy. It totally focused on the two main characters. To go from a list of characters to the two main and then see how the Author went back and forth was amazing.

Rory

Our conversation was surprisingly pleasant, and I actually found myself enjoying it. As for this bike ride, I need to mentally prepare myself for the challenge. I may not be confident in my cycling skills, but I have faith that she will take care of me. After all, with her military background, she knows how to protect and serve. I chuckled at my own joke before setting my phone down and getting up from the couch.

Just as I sat back down, my phone began to ring again. I glanced at the caller ID and saw that it was my grandma calling. It's not like her to call unless there's something important going on. With a sense of concern, I answered the call.

Grandma, are you alright? Rory, what day is it today? It's Thursday, why? I need to speak with Vickie. Is she not picking up her phone? I haven't called her yet. Would you be able to make a three-way call like you did before? I would feel more at ease if you were on the line with me.

Ugh, I really don't want to do this, but I can't say that to her. Maybe she won't answer, and I won't have to deal with Vickie today. She can handle things on her own. What could she possibly be trying to find out now? Alright, time to suck it up.

Of course, Grandma. I'll take care of it.

Yeah, I know she better make that call for me. I need to find out why Vickie is playing hooky. She should know better. If she had the same good sense as Rory, people would be talking about her in a different way. These young folks just don't seem to have any common sense these days. I mean, sure, Rory is 32 so that makes a big difference, but I really wish Vickie would start getting it together like he has.

I appreciate it, Grandbaby. Just a moment, Grandma. I need to dial her number and merge the call, is that alright? Of course, take your time. Alright.

I need to gather my thoughts before speaking. Perhaps I should ask a series of probing questions, or at least a few important ones.

I just
