About The Power Of Now
THE POWER OF NOW: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment by Eckhart Tolle was first published in the late 1990s and has since been recommended by Oprah Winfrey and translated into over 30 languages. The intention of Tolle’s book is to provide a guide for enlightenment for the average person in his or her day-to-day life. It teaches the reader how to simply be aware of the present, rather than becoming preoccupied with the past or future. The past is gone, the author wisely points out, and the future will only be negatively impacted when all thoughts associated with it are anxiety-driven.
Tolle proposes that many people’s chief source of pain is their feeling that they need to control their life. He sets forth several practical, everyday methods of relaxation and meditation to help anchor
