The DVD of evil
Three friends went out to rent a horror movie. It was late at night. They searched the entire city but did not find any video stores open.
As they were about to give up, they found a small video store that was open. They went in to search for a horror movie. They were not able to make a decision, so they asked the clerk at the counter for a recommendation.
There’s a horror movie that just arrived today but it's still in the box, I'll go get it,
she said and went to look for it.
While they waited, one of the friends noticed a DVD on the counter without a cover. Curious, Gabriela opened the case and got scared when she saw the scorched DVD.
Please don't touch that!
said the clerk, returning from the back of the store. She snatched the DVD from Gabriela's hands.
Sorry, I just wanted to see what movie it was,
said the girl
This movie can't be watched,
replied the clerk with a smile.
Really? And what's in it?
asked Jessica.
It's just a homemade movie.
The clerk showed them the movie she went to get.
Take this one, it's so much better.
The friends agreed.
Are any of you registered?
No, it's our first time here,
replied Luiza, What do we need to register?
Name and proof of residence.
I don't have a proof of residence.
No problem, bring it later.
As clerk registered Luiza, Gabriela opened the case, grabbed the charred DVD and slipped it into her bag.
When they got back to Luiza's place to watch the movie, Gabriela said:
You guys up to watch the forbidden movie?
She showed them the DVD
You stole it?
- Luiza asked.
I only borrowed it without asking. I'll return it with the one we rented tomorrow. Don’t worry I’ll pay.
You have to return it because that clerk's going to be mad,
said Luiza.
Relax, let’s just watch the movie, how bad can it be?
I don't think it's a good idea,
said Jessica, the store clerk said it's a homemade movie. I bet it's something disgusting.
We'll find out then,
replied Gabriela putting the disc into the DVD player.
They sat together on the sofa. Nothing appeared on the TV for several minutes
Suddenly, the TV began to emit static noise until a woman lashed to a column appeared on the screen. Around her were several men with faces hidden behind hoods, each holding a lighted torch. One of the men dowsed the woman with gasoline while another lit her up. As she burnt, she laughed hysterically, and just before dying, cried out:
