Introduction
DASH is the acronym for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension, a lifelong plan of healthy eating designed to prevent and/or treat high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as to maintain appropriate weight levels.
In a 2015 study by U.S. News and World Report, the DASH diet was identified as a great diabetes weapon due to its emphasis on fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy products and whole grains. The foods proposed in the DASH diet match those prescribed by doctors who specialize in treating diabetes.
The DASH diet also conforms to the recommended dietary guidelines established by the United States Departments of Agriculture and Health, especially with fat, proteins,
