      Introduction

      I have noted on a number of occasions that I quite like doing extreme writing challenges. NaNoWrimo is probably the most famous of them, but for the last couple of years I’ve been doing that three times a year, taking advantage of Camp NaNo in April and July. I’ve tried my hand at StoryADay, and thought up a few challenges of my own.

      This ebook came out of one of those.

      I, in my infinite wisdom, decided to try to write 24 pieces of flash fiction in 24 hours. As you can probably tell by the title of the book, I didn’t quite manage that. Mostly because I’d forgotten I had a friend coming to stay the weekend and they were staying in the room where my writing computer lives. It would have been
