Do you ever dream of raising your own chickens or growing your own food? Maybe you want to live off the grid and opt out of society. If you yearn to live a life free of influence from the modern world, than homesteading could be the answer you've been searching for. Hopefully this book will help you determine whether or not the homesteader lifestyle is something that is right for you and your family.
So what is homesteading? Well, homesteading is a lifestyle based on being self sufficient. It's normally categorized by growing your own food, learning to live off the grid, long term preservation of foodstuffs, and can involve smaller scale production of clothing, craft work and textiles for use at home or sale.
Homesteading at its core is about learning to recognize and understand your needs – including food, energy, health and financial, and then figuring out how you can meet those needs responsibly and creatively.
