Rainer stepped out of the bus when his phone rang.
'Hello? Yes, I'm on my way. I just stepped out of the bus. It won't be long anymore...' Rainer stopped. He noticed something on the sidestreet. Behind the bin, someone was lying on the ground. 'Mikael, I'll call you back', Rainer said, closed his phone and ran to the sidestreet. There on the ground lay a woman who was staring up at the sky.
'Hello.' Rainer knelt down and looked at the woman with a worried look on his face. 'Is everything ok?'
'Yes,' the woman said quietly and then sat up.
'Who are you? And... what are you doing lying on the ground here for?'
'I'm crazy...'
'Ok.What's your name?'
'Tara.'
'Well, Tara, I'm going to get you out of here, ok. We'll go to my friend's place and then we can sort everything out.' Rainer could see she wasn't quiet all there. She nodded as a sign of agreement to what Rainer had said and followed him until they arrived outside a block of flats.
The doorbell rang. A man opened the door and jumped seeing the visitors.
'Who's that?' he asked.
'This is Tara.Tara, this is my friend Mikael.' Tara didn't say a word. 'I found Tara having a lie down on the sidestreet, don't think she's quite on this planet right now.
'Oh no...Maire!
'What?' A woman's voice came from the kitchen and soon she appeared in the hallway unprepared for the shock.
'Tara? Oh my God! Maire rushed to hug Tara. 'Have you remembered to take your medication?Apparently, not.' Maire went through all Tara's pockets but couldn't find any medication. ' Look, here's what's going to happen; we are going back to your place to find your medication. Come on.' Maire threw on her coat and walked Tara out of the house.
The women arrived at Tara's house. The journey there had been inconsolably silent; Tara hadn't spoken a word. When they got inside, Maire helped the coat off Tara. Then a girl appeared from one of the rooms, running straight into Tara's arms.
'Mummy!'
'Hello, darling,' Tara hugged the girl.
'What took you so long?' The little girl wanted to know. Tara had told her she'd go shopping only for a couple of hours.
'Mummy had a little accident.'
'What kind of an accident?' Tara was thinking carefully what to tell the girl.
'Mummy just fainted a little, that's all.Isn't that silly?'
'Oh, good,' the little girl said and when Tara let go of her hand, she ran back to her room. Maire appeared with a glass of water and a pill.
'Take this.'
'I'm fine,' Tara took the water but not the pill.
'What was the earlier business then? Have you stopped taking your medication all together?'
'It was nothing.Just let it be.I don't need any pills.'
'Then how come you are found lying all flat in the middle of the ground and you won't say a word to explain it?'
'Ugh, I was just having an anxiety attack, that's all. Just let it be, please.'
'Fine. Can I stay for a moment at least?'
' Yeah. I'm going to have a shower now if that's ok. Be a dear and make some coffee while I'm there.'
Tara retured shower fresh from the bathroom. She sat herself opposite Maire at the kitchen table.
'Managed to make the coffee then?' Tara noticed Maire had already finished drinking hers.
'Yeah. Tara, listen, we've been friends for a long time...'
'Not lately.'
'Yes, I've been asking myself why that is for quite some time.' Maire looked at Tara with a look in her eyes that said she wanted a reply.
'I just got tired of your psychology babble. You don't know everything... '
'What everything?'
'You don't need to know.Other than that I'm crazy.'
'All right. Perhaps I should stop diagnosing you. I just want us to be friends.' Tara looked at Maire and smiled.
'We can be. I'm sorry, too, for not keeping in touch. Tiredness has its price.'
'Oh, Tara.' Tara and Maire hugged. Years of friendship would still continue after all.

Summer morning. Tara was sitting on the terrace with a book and a cigarette. Rainer appeared from around the corner. Tara was startled by the sound of his footsteps.
'Oh, hi.This is a surprise,' Tara said feeling off guard.
'Hi.How are you doing? I heard you are feeling a bit better. I got your address from Maire.' Rainer sat down opposite Tara. 'Are you reading philosophy? I see you have a book by Nietzsche.
'I am,' Tara said closing the book and drawing deeply on her cigarette. ' I'm fine, thank you for asking.Would you like some morning coffee?'
'Yes, please, I'd love a cup.'
'I'll just finish smoking this. You can go inside so you won't be affected by passive smoking.'
'That's a good idea,' Rainer said coughing as the smoke reached his lungs. As he went in, he bumped into Valo.
'Hi, Valo.'
'Hi. Where's mummy?' Valo wondered.
'Outside. Will be inside soon.' Rainer closed the door behind him.Valo went back to her room.Rainer had a look around in the house. No plants, he noted. The other thing that caught his attention was the fact that there were no photographs anywhere, not on the shelves, walls or anywhere else.Tara came inside.
'Mummy, I can't wait until tomorrow.' Valo had re-appeared from her room and started moaning at her mother.
'Please, try.Tomorrow is not that far away.' Tara lifted the girl up.
'What's happening tomorrow?' Rainer asked.
'Tomorrow is our princess' birthday.'
'Do you have lots of friends coming over to a party?' Rainer asked Valo.
'Leea, Titta and Aurora,' Valo listed.
'Oh, right. You wanted the coffee. I'll make you some. Please, sit down. By the way, what brought you here?' Tara couldn't help but wonder why Rainer had just appeared in her garden.
'I found it hard to believe that everything was ok, especially after I saw you in that state.'
'I have my weak moments...'
'Eveyone does.' Rainer looked at Tara and when Tara turned around to look at him,Rainer smiled. She could not help but smile back.
'I suppose I should get going. I'm glad that you are feeling better.' Rainer was ready to leave.
'Thank you for looking after me.Come and visit us again,' Tara said as she walked Rainer to the door. They didn't say any goodbyes, just smiled at each other until Rainer went out the door.

The cake was already half eaten. Tara was chatting with the other mum's while Rainer was sitting on the terrace, looking around. Soon the other mum's left and Tara went inside. When she came back ouside, she sat next to Rainer handing him a sketchbook.
'With the help of this, I'm sure you can guess what I have done as a job.'
'You're not working at the moment?' Rainer opened the sketchbook. Valo's drawings.
'No, I'm on sick leave because of my knee.' Valo had drawn dragons and princesses, and next to them, Tara.
'I've written books... not that they've been successful but something for Valo to read.' Tara was watching Rainer as he flicked through the book.
'Do you have children?' Tara asked.
'No.' Rainer shook his head.
'Would you like to have any?'
'I haven't thought about it...' Rainer closed the sketchbook and placed it on the table.
'I didn't mean to pry, I'm sorry.' Tara took the book and got up.
'Don't worry about it.' Rainer calmed Tara down. She smiled and asked: 'Coffee?'
'I'd love to. I'll stay here
