    The Runch Bunch® stories inspire children with different needs by representing them as diverse characters that employ curiosity, confidence, friendship, and humor to overcome the challenges they face. By utilizing a cast of different needs characters, we will educate our readers about the social and emotional obstacles these children encounter. Our aim is to shift the focus of discussion and highlight each child with different needs, rather than the underlying cause of their ailment. This will be the genesis of a universal reach that will integrate and bind all children who each have different needs. It will have a global impact that will surpass physical, geographical and ethnic boundaries. We are also committed to donating a portion of the proceeds to help families and children with different needs.

    Chianne Johnson- I am the author of The Runch Bunch® book series. I was born in Bronx, NY and raised in Queens, NY. I am a retired NYC Police Officer (Youth Officer), former high school and collegiate athlete, and former basketball coach . I have always had a love for children of all ages and a passion for helping them become better individuals. I have come in contact with a lot of less fortunate children during my career and I’ve helped mold a few of them into becoming better people and preparing them for the real world. I feel every child deserves a fair chance at life and it’s only fair if I contributed to that.I decided to write these short stories and bring awareness to children who don’t have a voice. Children with “different needs” seem to be forgotten. My goal in writing this series is to empower children of different needs and to teach other children that they are equal to them. I want everyone to treat people with different needs as if they are the same, because they are. They may have a physical challenge or a mental challenge or even a medical challenge but it still doesn’t mean they are not human. They have feelings, emotions, and a great heart just like everyone else. It isn’t okay to stare, or chuckle or to belittle someone because they are different. I want THE RUNCH BUNCH® to be the face and voice of children with different needs. I prefer not to say special because in my eyes, ALL CHILDREN ARE SPECIAL AND ALL CHILDREN HAVE NEEDS, SOME ARE JUST DIFFERENT THAN OTHERS.Join the movement in helping the world understand what The Runch Bunch® is all about!! #RunchLifeI am willing to speak with anyone regarding these books, or if you have suggestions or questions.
