    Seasons

    Wednesday saw the leaves turning

    Like an internal Autumn finally begun.

    A beautiful canopy of orange and brown

    Fluttered before her eyes, shading the sun.

    Too long had she lived only for Winter

    And excuses to hide away.

    A palette of grey, black and tainted white

    Marked the dreariness of her days.

    Suddenly, as the Springtime brings newness

    She can see all she needs do is breathe.

    The world's a kaleidoscope of possibilities blue and green,

    And she really can be more than she believes.

    Emerging from a torturous Summer,

    The sun's rays now guide instead of blind

    As she basks in shades of amber and yellow,

    Self doubts fade as though scattered in wind.

    Putting a collection of poetry together from existing poems is far harder than writing the poems themselves. Instead of writing to a theme, you have to decide what words connect together in a way that will draw the reader to a certain mood, or choose poems with a repeating
